Fringe finale, Journey to Drabble, quiz result

May 15, 2009 11:14

So, I haven't seen the last episode of "Bones" (or the last two episodes of "30 Rock"), but I did finally watch the "Fringe" finale: OK, that freaking rocked. Peter is from the other dimension? Olivia is one of the people who can pass between worlds? Nina's robot arm is the key to getting through? (I am a sucker for Nina and her robot arm.) And oh, Walter. IMHO, the final shot with the Twin Towers wasn't cheap -- I found it almost unbearably moving, actually, a reminder that each dimension suffers terrible losses, but that, as the show says, "there's more than one of everything," and so nothing is ever wholly gone. And Nimoy! He has played a big part in my personal amusements this week. I am wild to see where this show will go next year.

Thoughts without spoilers: It took me the whole season to say this, but I will now recommend "Fringe" with only very minimal qualifications -- i.e., they didn't hit their stride until about midseason. I found it more entertaining than not even before then, but ever since midseason, this show has grown by leaps and bounds. If you are looking for something scifi (and particularly if you are eager for something that avoids genderfail), maybe catch up with "Fringe" over the summer.

Are you drabbling at JOURNEY TO DRABBLE? You should be! Even if you just want to read, there are TONS of fantastic Star Trek reboot ficlets there now, with several links to longer fics, with all characters and 'ships and anything else you can name. I am most pleased by the response but hope to see a little more today. Certainly I have more drabbles to write, but I also want to friend some of the fabulous writers I have found through this.

So, I think this is mostly on:

Your result for The Social Persona Test (What kind of man/woman are you?)...

The Emo Girl (QLBF)

Quirky Liberal Beta Female

You don't have to dress a certain way to be a emo girl at heart. You likely have more spunk than The Librarian (QTBF), which is good, but that attitude that screams "Rescue me" only attracts guys for so long. You are interesting and fun, but non-conformism does not replace self-confidence, a virtue you are in sore need of.

You are more QUIRKY than NORMAL.

You are more LIBERAL than TRADITIONAL.

You are more PASSIVE than DOMINANT.

When picking a date, consider: The Lord of the Misfits (QLAM), The Snowball's Chance in Hell (QTBM), The Manga Geek (QLBM), or That Creepy Guy (NLBM).
