makes the world go around

I am in a money crunch. This has happened to me less in recent years; GG&K does chafe at the soul, sometimes, but it pays well. However, I've gotten hit by one thing after another for the past three months, and the totally unexpected bill I got today (yes, it turns out, the New Jersey DMV can find a way to charge me for something after I no ( Read more... )

However, the alternative appears to be four months or so of panic attacks. Ungood.

Yyyyeah, do I know that feeling well.

Would you like fic? Give me as many prompts as you'd like!

Jack/Nadia.

Nadia/Tom.

Nadia talks to her mother.

Any of the above. Also Xanax if available.

Oooh, ouch. I sympathize with the not wanting to ask the parents for a loan too, I end up in that position far too often myself.

Want fic? Prompt me and I'll see what I can do.

How about Irina talking to Sloane?

Or Jack talking to Sydney?

Thanks for the sympathy. I may not deserve it here with my new haircut, but I do appreciate it.

Loved it. So we're going to get part II in which Jack attempts to diaper the actual baby, right? *poke, poke* :D

With the disclaimer that that jokes told by lawyers are usually not nearly as funny as Lawyer Jokes, may I direct your attention to this Solomonic decision from a Judge in Florida which caused much amusement at my office. And has the advantage of looking like work should your supervisor wander past.

On the same note, you might find this one amusing!

One of my best friends in law school actually had the support staff at Westlaw mailing him the craziest opinions he could find. This one is courtesy of artaxastra, but I actually ran across it during an internship at the Court of Appeals. Wanted to cite it in an opinion, but wasn't certain my judge would be amused. *grin*

This I saw too, but again, always good to revisit. :D My favorite is Stambovsky v. Ackley in the New York Court of Appeals. Ah, good times.

"(1) vendor was estopped to deny existence of poltergeists on the premises, so that house was haunted as a matter of law."

The court quotes Hamlet, Ghostbusters, and Prosser on Torts, all in a single opinion! *wild applause*

OK, I admit it - I'm a law geek.

I just went to look up the text of the decision -- it's been a while since I read it -- and realized that one of the judges who joined in it (not the author, alas) is in fact a senior lawyer here at GG&K. We speak often, so now I get to fangirl him. In a professional way, of course.

I am unduly thrilled by this.
