SST

SST last weekend was excellent.

We got on site at about 8:30 Friday night, so ended up setting up in the dark, but it went okay. Then there was some hanging out at the bardic fire for a while and then bed.

Saturday we started to realize all the stuff we'd forgotten at home, so catalyst75 and I headed back into town. The two hour trip gave us a great chance to talk (this whole job thing is really cutting into my online chatting time). Once I got back I got set up for doing henna, and soon had people lining up for their turn. Later on there was a bit of dancing by firelight, which was incredibly fun; and then there was bardic for the rest of the evening, interspersed with a walk to the lake and a trip with sheer_obsidian for our annual visit to the Tree of Morality. My "Iago's An Tir" contest ended up with no entries, but it was fun anyway. I also debuted a new piece, a childrens' song by John Lithgow called "Mr. Macloud", which went over incredibly well.

At Childrens' Court on Sunday Zoe presented Her Excellency with a story she wrote called "Princess Maria and the Dragon". The Baron and Baroness liked the story so much that His Excellency read it out to the populace at Closing Court. I was beaming with pride over how much everyone enjoyed it.
