That's what the
headlines read. Seriously, Tuesday's game (Philly vs. Buffalo) was sweeeeeeet! Philly came back to tie and force the game into OT and Briere scored the winning goal in the shoot out against his former team. Amazing! The history here is that Briere played last year for the Buffalo Sabres and became a free agent and now plays for the Philadelphia Flyers. Oh yeah, and one more thing about last night... IT ENDED OUR LOSING STREAK (for like the entire month of February)! Oh yeah, AND put us back into the running for the playoffs! =)
Other then that... nothing new. Trying to organize a hoceky outing at work this month and can't tell if anyone is much interested. Today was a little difficult... Apparently some bitter woman called my manage and said she thinks I am racist (which I found rather interesting, but whatever - she was black and felt that I didn't show her enough attention... WHATEVER), had to cut some people off from drinking later in the day because I felt they had too much to drink in a two hour span (like, four tall beers and about three heavy shots each with only chips and salsa, although my managers helped with this one) and was told by a fellow employee that I "talk down" to people. So... that is something that I can work on and it probably just comes down to thinking about the way that I actually say things to people and realizing that my position at Chili's is different than it was at Copeland's. I want to be liked and things, I guess I just come across too harsh. I think sometimes that I take my work very seriously and know at times that I can sometimes have a more leader-type feel/role in organizations so it seems to be causing a few problems. I don't think that I am ever rude to people, but I think people at Chili's are resenting me a little. The structure is different at Chili's then it was at Copeland's so it's a ltitle difficult adjusting. At Copeland's management was coming after the head waits wondering why people aren't doing their job and I was responsible for getting people back on track and helping them out with their tables. At Chili's, I am simply responsible for setting up the store and no type of managing what-so-ever. Anyone can pretty much open. Neither way is bad, it's just something I am going to have to adjust to.
So yeah, that's the short version... ; )
