*sigh*

Not really seeing much point to continuing to update this journal [probably should have stopped a long while back but at least I had the writing that people might find interesting]

Don't really think I have anything worth saying that anyone would care to hear [and apparently I want to be really melodramatic today]

Seriously though, I don't think anything has happened in the pass week and a half that would be worth mentioning, either that or whatever good might have happened has been forgotten, I seem to have a hard time pulling apart days in my mind.

I've been cross-stitching [I'm sure this comes as no surprise to anyone here] and I've taken on two new commissions. My cousin Alwin [as I understand it, the term is once removed, but I'm not entirely sure about that] wanted me to cross-stitch a picture of his son [my second cousin? who knows!] Joachim for him which I'm more than happy to do.

This is Joachim

- Materials
Fabric: 25ct Lugana [stitching over-1]
Size: 10x8-1/2"
Colors: 60

After Alwin approved of the picture he asked if I could also stitch a picture of his father [my Ome Jan] with Joachim as well.

- Ome Jan looks so very much like my Opa, I've never met him face to face but we've spoken on the phone on more than one occasion. Alwin wants this one done for Ome Jan's birthday. [makes me a little nervous having a deadline but his birthday isn't until November 4th. Still I want to get a start on it soon, I'm just waiting for approval from Alwin]
- Materials
Fabric: 18ct hand dyed
Size: 9x6-3/8"
Colors: 60
- I won't be stitching the background on this one, so I might up the stitch count since I'll only be working on Ome Jan and Joachim

I took this picture February 16th so I've made more progress but haven't taken an update yet 'cause the progress isn't near enough.

I found my brain going a little melty as I tried to fill in at least some of the colors in Whiskers' black fur so I would have to work only on it at the end.

They say a change is as good as a vacation, so I picked up another project [one of the other projects I already had on the go? You ask.] Nope! I had to start something brand new, but then after stitching Romeo I discovered how much I love stitching where one of the colors in the pattern [mostly black] is left to just be the fabric.

This is where I was as of yesterday night.

- Materials
Fabric: 28ct Joblan [stitching over-1]
Size: 10x14-7/8"
Colors: 50 [technically 49 since I won't be using black]

Wonder how long it'll be before I feel like updating again.
