Ramblings about writing

Feeling more than a little grumpy right now, I'm trying to relax while watching Supernatural with me daddy &hearts! We're almost done season 2 watching the end of Roadkill right now [love the way they filmed this episode! wonderfully unique!]

I've been working a little on my writing, managed a couple more sentences for The Same Coin [don't think I'm happy with it] and I've gone back an rewritten the opening to Watching them Fall because no surprise, I'm not happy with it. I think I'm a little happier now though, so I'm going to press on and see if I can't get a decent amount done.

I think I've got the story all planned out [it came together in my head much faster than usual] I'm taking that as a good sign! It's going to be a slightly different take on story telling for me I think. As the main plot of the story is directly tied to a past hunt Dean was on. I'll be showing what happened in that hunt slowly with flashbacks. This may or may not make it harder for me, since I'm not entirely sure how these flashbacks/nightmares are going to play out. I'm hoping as I go they'll just fit into place. I'm hoping the mystery of it all will be intriguing for my readers.

At the moment it's my goal to hold back on posting until I'm mostly done. I'd really like to be completely happy with this story [even if that feeling doesn't last forever ^_~ it rarely does] I don't want to get into the problem of committing myself to an idea that doesn't really work [because of what's already posted] and have to continue using it.

The real test will come when I've completed the first chapter, as I know Ridley is excited to read my next Brotherhood story and of course I'm really excited to see what she thinks of this new idea.

Not too long ago mum suggested I write a Supernatural/Moonlight story. So I've been toying with ideas, the one thing I definitely don't want is to have the boys heading to LA hunting vamps. That's way too easy...and I believe very over done. I'm trying to think of a possible connection between Mick and John. I'm also toying with the ideas of how to deal with the differences between vampires in the two shows. I've got two ideas going at the moment.

First: The vamps that the Winchesters have faced in Supernatural are a lesser form of vampire more rouge than anything else, perhaps even a mutation of the Vampires that Mick and the rest are.

Second: Make the story a Fusion not a Crossover. I'll disregard all the vamps that Sam and Dean have faced so far and simply go with what I know from Moonlight.

Not sure which will work best for me, I kind of like the idea of coming up with an explanation for Mick to give the boys about the differences between vampires. Whatever I choose I doubt it'll happen any time soon. But I've been wrong before.

watching them fall, the brotherhood, writing, family, stargate sg-1, supernatrual, stories, moonlight, dvds, fic, the same coin
