High School is a wonderful time people pass through. It is a time filled with excitement, happiness, sadness, and other various kinds of emotions. It is the time when you meet people who will have a big impact on your life. It is a time full of events that will stay in your memory for a long time.
Everywhere you look, there are interesting people. That is what you would say about Tokugawa High. Filled with smart and talented people, everyday is an interesting day.
Gym, Morning Assembly
Mr. Kougami, the president of Tokugawa High, walked to the stage with a confident smile on his face. As usual, he had a box of cake on one hand. A table was set-up on the center of the stage in front of the faculty and staff. Once on stage, he took the mic off its stand and placed the cake on the table. With a huge grin, he shouted:
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY NEW STUDENT COUNCIL!"
He opened the box to reveal a cake with the English greeting.
Other people might find this weird, but it was pretty normal for this school already. They simply clapped like usual, to pay respect to the crazy president of their school.
The principal, Takeshi Kuroki, walked to the podium and sighed. He was always the one who needs to be serious so that the students would listen. He cleared his throat and looked at the students. "Today, we will let the new student council explain to us what their plans are for the coming year."
"Wooot~ Kurorin~!" Jin, the head of the science department, shouted at him with a naughty smile. "You're so serious!"
Kuroki glared at him but did not take notice. "Well then, I'll give the floor to the president: Shiba Takeru."
To this, a louder round of applause was heard. Girls started whispering and boys joked around about the student council members.
"Good morning." Shiba Takeru, the student council president who was always cool and collected, looked at everyone with calculating eyes. "It is my pleasure to introduce to the whole student body the rest of the student council."
Before he could say anything more, the boy beside him said "Tono-sama, let me handle this! You don't have to speak anymore and tire yourself out!" He smiled widely and took the microphone. Takeru narrowed his eyes but did not speak. "I'm Ryunosuke, the Vice President External. This guy..." He pointed towards the smaller boy beside him. "is Alata, the vice president internal. Then we have Rinko-chan who is the secretary. Luka-chan who is the treasurer. Hakase, the auditor. 3rd year rep, Miu. 2nd year rep, Gentarou. 1st year rep, Hiromu. Sports committee leader Marvelous-san, and Library committee leader Koyomi-chan." He pointed towards each one before bowing. He passed the mic to Alata after saying "What does the other VP want to say?"
Alata brightly smiled, effectively brightening the day of everyone in school. "Let's do our best, everyone! I hope this year would be a good one for all of us!"
Rinko was the next one to speak. "The student council will do everything in its power to protect the students, so trust in us, okay?"
"I'll properly use the money of the student council. That is all." Luka smiled mischievously.
"Mou, Luka! That sounds more suspicious!" Hakase said, frowning. "I'll do my best to use the student council's budget for exciting and fun activities for the whole school." He bowed sincerely.
"Goody two-shoes." Luka murmured with a frown. "Me and Marvelous will win over you, anyway." She stuck out her tongue at him as the next student spoke.
"As the representative of the 3rd years, I will make sure to voice out our needs in the student council meetings. Rest assured." Miu smiled that Queen-smile of hers, and all the boys smiled dreamily in happiness.
"That's what I will do too! If you ever have any problems, just be sure to come to me!" Gentarou grinned and struck his fist forward as if to fistbump the whole student body.
"There would be a suggestion box in each classrooms, so if you have any concerns, please use that." Hiromu simply said with a professional tone of voice.
Marvelous held the microphone and raised an eyebrow as he spoke. "I don't have any promise. We'll just win the next competition, and that's enough." All the students clapped and wooted in excitement at this. Marvelous smirked and passed the microphone to Koyomi who looked bored and annoyed.
"..." Koyomi sighed. She did not like doing this. Being in the library meant quietness, right? Why did he have to talk to all these people?
"You'll do your best too, right Koyomi?" A smiling Haruto shouted from where he was standing at the 2nd year's line.
She couldn't help but smile. "Yes, I will."
Ryunosuke smiled and took the microphone, passing it on to Takeru. "Any last words, Tono?"
"As they said, the student council will do its job the best way we can. We hope you also give us suggestions and volunteer when we need them. That is all." He bowed a bit before placing the microphone back on its stand.
All the students clapped, some girls staring dreamily at Takeru and Marvelous while some boys elbowed each other while talking about Miu. They sure have a wonderful Student Council.
Infirmary, Morning Assembly
"Good morning~" Genta, the canteen helper, opened the door of the infirmary quietly, looking inside with a smile on his face. "Date-san, I have your breakfast here." He walked inside, placing a steel box on the doctor's table.
"Oooh!" Date grinned and took his curry. "Efficient as always, Gen-chan!" After one bite, he closed his eyes, savoring the taste. "Aaah~ Your curry is really good!"
"You should try my sushi too!" Genta suggested energetically.
Date laughed and nodded dismissively. "Oh, by the way, that Shiba-hime is resting here today."
Genta nodded, eyes showing worry. He took a small pack of sushi from the metal box and strode over to the nearest bed, slightly opening the curtain divider and peeking inside. "Kaoru'hime?"
Kaoru sat up, looking tired and sickly. "Aren't you going to watch the morning assembly? Your precious best friend is making a speech this very moment." She looked straight at him.
He grinned. "Takeru will do it well. I'm sure of that. Besides, I need to deliver food to people, right?"
"I didn't order anything." She answered curtly, lying down again.
"It's on the house." He placed the plate of sushi beside her. "Come on, you like it don't you?" He prodded.
"Fine." She sighed and sat up again, taking the pack and opening it. "Thank you."
"Aaah~ youth~" Date sighed as he listened in on the two. "That's nice~"
He heard someone clear his throat at the side. Kengo, Satonaka and Gotou was standing there beside him. He smiled awkwardly and walked back to his seat. "Uhmmm..." He sat down and looked at them. "Utahoshi-kun, are you going back to class?"
"Un." Kengo answered flatly as he walked to the door. "I'll go back at lunch."
"Eh? Then ask Yuki-chan to eat lunch with you here! It would be lonely to eat alone, right?" Date suggested with a sly smile.
Kengo glanced at him wordlessly before walking away. "I guess I won't come back" he muttered.
"Last time I checked this was an infirmary," Gotou said critically, buttoning his shirt. "Not a lover's place."
"Says the guy who just came out of the the infirmary without a shirt and with a sexy secretary as a companion." Date grumbled.
Gotou's face flushed obviously as he stuttered "I-it's not like that!"
Satonaka sighed boredly as she snatched a container full of pain killers. "We're going to be late." She said, pocketing some of the tablets for later. "Date-san, I'm taking 5 tablets for Gotou-san. He was shot yesterday."
"WHAT?" Date stared wide eyed at them. "Why didn't you ask me to-"
"I'm okay." Gotou shrugged. "Boss just cleaned my wounds."
Date grinned. "Not a lover's place, huh."
Gotou blushed more, stomping off to the door. "A-anyway! We're going back to Kougami-san's office."
3-A Classroom, just before class
"That was such a nice speech, Tono-sama!" Ryunosuke clapped proudly as they sat down on their seats. "As expected of the head of the Shiba Company!"
"Settle down, Ryunosuke." Takeru sighed as he watched more students go inside the classroom.
"That's right! You're disrupting the class!" Mako crossed her arms in front of her chest as she sat behind Ryunosuke. She glanced at Takeru then asked "Are you okay? You must be tired."
"Not at all." Takeru answered quickly.
"You're not honest at all. You're like Joe-chan." Basco said as he passed by. "We've got lots of that type in our class, ne Marvy-chan?" He said, sitting beside Marvelous.
Takeru did not even bother to look at Basco, who was known to be a deliquent in class.
"Go back to your seat, Basco." Marvelous replied flatly.
"How cold~" Basco pouted and threw a tantrum there and then. "Marvy-chan is cold! Marvy-chan has a stone heart! Marvy-chan is mean!" He was smiling naughtily though, a smile that was not childish at all. It looked more like he had an evil plan in mind.
"You aren't sitting on your seat either, Marvelous." Luka stood in front of him, both hands at either hip. "That's my seat."
Marvelous narrowed his eyes at her. "I like this seat." As if to prove his point, he forwarded his seat and so that his legs were under the desk. Luka could not move him with force.
"Where am I supposed to sit?" Luka asked angrily, glaring at him.
"On Marvy-chan's lap, perhaps?" Basco suggested with a grin.
Two fists bumped him on the head, and soon enough Basco was out cold on the floor. "Hakase, take this guy away!" Luka called out to the guy studying quietly at the other end of the room.
"Ha-hai!" Hakase, or Don Dogoier (his real name), rushed towards Basco and dragged him to his right seat.
Before he could go back to his seat, Terui stopped him. "You're a guy, Hakase. You should be more firm."
"Bu-but..." Hakase pouted, glancing at Luka who was obviously stronger than he was. It was not like he was particularly bullied or anything. Luka and Marvelous just likes telling him to do stuff.
"That's right." Shoutaro adjusted his fedora hat and looked at him with a concerned expression. "A man should be hard-boiled."
"Speaking like that even if you're some half-boiled fake?" Wakana smirked. "How pretentious."
"You!" Shoutaro frowned. "Be glad you're Philip's sister or else..."
"Oh dear, are you threatening me?" Wakana feigned innocence. She raised her voice. "Do hard-boiled men threaten innocent girls?" She even widened her eyes to look cuter.
"What am I hearing about threatening in my classroom?" Rinko appeared at the side, frowning. "Shoutaro-kun, is it true?"
Blinking rapidly, Shoutaro raised both hand. "Of course not, Rinko-chan! This... ugh, I'm just talking properly with this angelic lady here."
Rinko smiled sweetly, though anyone who knows her would know she's hiding a tiger's fierceness inside her. "Good. But..." She took his fedora hat and placed it on top of his desk. "You can't wear a hat inside the classroom, Shoutaro-kun. Am I clear?"
Shoutaro frowned but nodded. "Alright."
She strode to her seat beside Miu. "Good morning, Miu-san."
"Oh good morning Daimon-san." Miu greeted with a small smile. "Good work on the Disciplinary committee as usual."
"It's nothing special." Rinko shook her head humbly. "I saw your cheerleading practice. It was amazing, as always."
"It's because our team is amazing!" Miu gushed proudly. "We always win with our basketball team."
Shun, who was sitting beside Miu, butted in with a confident smile. "Does that mean I'm Miu's inspiration?" You could almost see his teeth sparkling anime-style.
Miu frowned at him before looking at Marvelous who was still bickering with Luka. With a proud smile, she said "It's because of Marvelous-san, right? Our team is great because he's the captain!"
"Ah, I do understand that feeling." Rinko didn't know whether to smile at Miu or to feel bad about Shun's sulking. She did not have to think much about it though because their adviser, Wajima-sensei, entered the room and started calling the attendance.
About ten names in, the door opened to reveal three students who were late for class. It was Hyde, Joe and Ahim.
"It smells good." Hakase noted, as they entered.
Wajima simply smiled at them and made them take their seats.
"Be sure to share those sweets, Joe." Marvelous nudged Joe as soon as he sat down.
Joe smiled. "Sure. It's simple chocolate cookies this time."
Ahim sat beside Luka (who didn't have a choice but to sit beside Hakase), then Hyde sat beside her. "It seems we were a bit late." She whispered shyly.
"It's okay, it's okay!" Luka laughed. "Wajima-sensei doesn't really care about late students anyway."
"That's good." Ahim smiled at her and took out her notebook.
"We should be faster next time." Hyde noted with a matter-of-fact tone.
Ahim nodded. "We should. I'm sorry for making you late as well, Hyde-san."
A rare smile appeared on his face. "Don't worry about it."
At the side, Joe glared at Hyde for the rest of the period.
2-A Classroom, Just before class
"Let's do out best today too!" Alata raised his fists chest level and cheered energetically.
Eri did the same, smiling brightly. "Yup! Today will definitely be a good day!"
Agri sighed as he sat beside Eri. "Still with that no-basis-optimism." He took out his notebook and opened at a certain page. "It's too early for optimism. Besides, I still haven't done my homework."
"It's never too early for optimism!" Gentarou, who was sitting behind him, replied with as much energy as the first two. "You shouldn't be gloomy so early in the morning!"
"Right?" Alata high-fived with Gentarou, happy that he has someone who was as optimistic as he was. "You should listen to Gen-chan!"
"Fine, fine," Agri lay his head down on the desk and proceeded to ask why his luck is so bad. Why did he have to be placed in between all these super-happy people? "I just want to finish my homework, damnit."
"Should I help you with that?" Hina, who heard him grumble, approached and smiled at him. "I can let you borrow my notes."
Agri's eyes widened. "Really?" He smiled. "Aaah. You're an angel!"
Gentarou patted Hina on the back. "You're such a nice classmate, Hina-chan."
Hina blushed. "It's nothing! I just thought it would be fine to share my notes at least."
"Oi, idiot, take your hands off her." Ankh narrowed his eyes at Gentarou. "That monster girl is Eiji's."
Blinking in surprise, Gentarou removed his hand from Hina's back. "Eiji-san's...?"
"Who's the monster girl?!" Hina readily took an eraser from her desk and threw it straight to Ankh's forehead.
Ankh fell of his chair, smoke coming out from the eraser that hit him. "Stupid... girl..." He muttered before fainting.
"...wow." Agri's eyes were wide. "I'm not sure whether to be impressed or to be scared." He muttered towards Eri. The girl giggled but looked amazedly at Hina. Then with a sudden idea, he asked out loud "Izumi Hina-san, do you want to join the martial arts club?"
Hina looked at him and blinked innocently. "Um, I can't. I'm the president of the Home Economics Club."
Before Agri could say how much of a waste her strength is, the door opened to reveal a student who was not wearing a uniform. He was wearing an orang long sleeves and gray pants with a red scarf draped around his shoulders. Hino Eiji. The legendary guy who leaves the country on a whim and comes back with different souveniers, mostly good stuff for girls and underpants for boys.
"Eiji-kun!" Hina's eyes brightened upon seeing him. She walked to his side, hugging him quickly. "I didn't know you'd be back! You should have called me."
He simply laughed. "I wanted to surprise you." He raised his arms, showing her how many bags of souvenirs he had. "I bought some ingredients you might want for your club." Noticing Ankh dozing off on the floor, he asked "Did Ankh do something bad again?"
Hina simply smiled. "Don't worry about that."
"If I were him, I'd worry about his best friend's skull." Ryusei muttered as he watched the two exchange greetings.
"In a bad mood?" Akiko sat in front of him, smiling gently like a big sister. "It's hard being in a different class from your girl friend, isn't it?"
"Sh-she's not my girl friend." Ryusei looked away, denying even though he did not sound believable at all.
Akiko laughed. "My Ryu-kun is a year older so I find it lonely too." She smiled and patted him on the shoulder. "You're just like Ryu-chan so I feel the need to tell you this: if you continue denying your feelings, it would be bad. I'm not sure if your Tomoko-chan is as patient as I am."
Ryusei frowned. "I'm not sure I understand that."
"Oh you'll get it eventually." Akiko said. "So don't be so down."
"I'm not down because of that!" He defiantly said, eyes wide. He then looked at the other students and muttered, "I just think our class is full of idiots."
This time, she laughed. "Oh you're right about that." She watched Gentarou, who was very much like Shoutaro, and the others talk rowdily. She watched Eiji give out underpants to people who were crowding around him. "It's a fun class though."
The door opened again. Kengo and Yuki, both holding different thick books, walked to their seats beside Ryusei. "It's as rowdy as ever." Kengo noted as he placed his books down.
"It's tiring." Ryusei sighed.
"Oh cheer up!" Yuki smiled. "Isn't it more fun like this?"
Akiko nodded. "Yuki-chan's right!"
Ryusei couldn't help but chuckle. "You're both so persistent."
"He laughed!" Akiko proudly said. "That's the spirit!"
Kengo smiled a small smile. "You can't stay gloomy with these two beside you." He glanced around the room. "Or more like, you can't be gloomy in this kind of class."
"Kengo-kun's kind of gloomy though." Yuki joked, smiling playfully at him.
He smiled a bit more. "Am I? So Yuki, I presume you don't need my help for the next exam anymore?"
Her eyes widened. "No! I mean, yes I still need your help!"
Hearing the word 'exam', Agri looked at them with wide eyes. "Help for the exams? Isn't Ryusei-kun and Utahoshi-kun the two best students in our class?"
Ryusei, who is in the same club as Agri, knew where this is going. He wasn't sure he wanted to be involved in this.
"Oh! Good idea!" Haruto, who was writing something down quietly earlier, stood up as if he just had an enlightenment. "We could have a group study before the exams period!"
A lot of their classmates nodded, sure that if Kengo or Ryusei teaches them, it would make studying easier. Besides, hanging out with everyone would be fun.
Ryusei groaned and glanced at Kengo, wondering how they could get out of this. Instead of saying no though, Kengo simply nodded. "Sure. As long as you listen to me."
"Uwah! Kengo! You're the best!" Gentarou exclaimed happily, feeling lucky that he was best friends with such a nice guy.
"Kengo-kun is such a big help, ne?" Yuki said proudly.
Akiko nodded. "Thanks Utahoshi-kun!"
"This would be so fun!" Alata smiled brightly at Kengo's direction.
Ryusei facepalmed. "I guess I have to do it too."
"Don't worry, Ryusei-kun. We won't burden you. We just think it's more interesting when we all study together" Hina explained with an understanding smile.
"Hai, hai." He can't say no to that. After all, Hina Izumi was the class' caring mother.
1-A Classroom, Just before class
Hiromu took the handouts for the day from the desk and passed it around. "Morishita-sensei said there will be a recitation later." He announced to the class.
A collective groan could be heard from the rest of the class.
"Why? I can barely understand anything Morishita-sensei explains." JK sulked, throwing the handout on the floor angrily. "He goes on manic mode whenever he explains anything math. He looks like the god of math possesses him."
"Ufuufu..." Tomoko smiled her creepy smile. "God of math... That would be interesting..."
"Morishita-sensei is interesting." Philip simply said, reading through the handout.
"Right? He's really passionate about what he likes. He's a great person, I think." Shunpei agreed despite the fact that he really didn't understand much of the maths either. "Ko-koyomi-chan..." He glanced at his seatmate. "Can you help me-"
"Study on your own." Koyomi cut him off before he could finish.
"Oh come on, Koyomi-chan, you should help out your friend." Gai butted in, smiling a goodnatured smile.
"Who's my friend?" She frowned before looking down and continuing her reading.
Philip laughed lightly. "Koyomi, let's help." He smiled at her, tilting his head to look at her face. "Koyomi-chan knows a lot."
"Philip-kun knows a lot too." She retorted back. "Why don't you-"
"I will." Philip replied easily. "But you should help too, ne?"
"That's right! Koyomi-chan, it's lonely on your own!" Shunpei insisted. "We should study during lunch."
Tomoko nodded. "Koyomi-chan." She called out.
Koyomi's eyes widened as she looked at the other girl. "Should I?" she asked, as if she'll do anything Tomoko tells her to do.
"We should study together." Tomoko said, smiling a bit more gently.
JK smiled brightly. "Then! It's decided! Koyomi and Philip would tutor us not-so-smart beings later at lunch!"
"Augh." Moune groaned, sounding annoyed. "Onii-chan told me to train with him during lunch today."
"Can't you skip it?" Gai asked.
"No, I probably can't. I promised him." Moune placed her forehead on her desk, frustrated because she knew she wasn't smart enough to review enough to be able to participate in the recitation.
Hiromu, who was listening to them since earlier, tapped his notebook on Moune's head. "You can study my notes while Ohsugi-sensei teaches. Just make sure not to get caught."
Moune smiled brightly at him. "Thanks, class rep!"
"It's my job." He shrugged.
"Yosha!" Gai raised his fist high. "We'll all be able to answer later for sure!"
Kotoha smiled a bit as she watched her classmates decide on things. She was happy that there will be people helping her with the maths. She really wasn't bright or anything, so she wanted to make sure she could study with them.
"You're thinking you're stupid again." Chiaki, who has his head resting on the desk, looked up at her with a frown. "We'll study with them together later, alright? But stop thinking like that." He sighed. "You down yourself too much. Even though you're great in music and you can do lots of stuff too..."
"The flute is the only thing I'm good at." She replied innocently.
He placed a hand on top of her head. "It's not. You'll answer the recitation just fine." He looked her straight in the eye. "You believe me, right?"
She laughed softly. "If Chiaki-kun says so, then I'll believe it."
President's Office, Lunch
Kougami stood behind the huge desk at the center of his room and smiled proudly at the birthday cakes he baked. 7 students in the school had their birthday today. "Satonaka-kun," He called his secretary. "Please bring these to the students in the list."
"Yes." She stood up from her desk and took a tray, placing two cakes on it. She then went to the door and opened it.
As expected, Gotou went to her side immediately. "Let me carry it, boss."
She smirked. "No need. I left 5 others there. Bring it with you now."
He sighed, knowing something like this would happen. She really did like making him her slave. That should have been in the job description: [Be the servant of a slave-driver secretary]. He wouldn't complain though. More or less, he just let it be. Satonaka was the type of woman who deserved someone to serve her anyway. She was unlike any girl in the school. "Yes, yes." He nodded and went back to the office to take the remaining cakes.
"That's a good boy." She muttered, laughing quietly as she walked ahead of him.
Robotics Club, After School
Ryuuji-sensei sat on his usual seat, smiling at his students who were seriously connecting the pieces of a mini robot that was their project for today.
Hakase pouted as he watched Hiromu place one piece on the top.
"Is there any problem?" Kengo asked, eyeing Hakase who was the oldest and the smartest out of them three.
"I think this-" He took the piece from the head and placed it on the arms. "should be here."
"Aaah!" Hiromu nodded. "You should have just said so."
Hakase bowed a bit. "I'm sorry." He grinned sheepishly. "You were so into it so..."
"Excuses." A female voice said from the window. "You're just a pushover, that's why." Luka jumped from the corridor to the room through the window. "Yo, Hakase, Hiromu-kun." She then bowed a bit at Kengo. "You must be Utahoshi."
Kengo nodded and said "It's nice to meet you, Luka-san."
"Why are you here, Luka?" Hakase asked with a frown.
Luka simply smiled. "Maybe I'll join this club~?"
Hiromu raised an eyebrow. "We don't have much budget here, senpai. You won't be able to steal anything. And we don't have pushovers other than Hakase." He replied flatly.
Laughing, she patted him on the head. "Such a good kid, Hiromu." She sat beside him and said "Nah, I was just bored."
"You should go help the student council." Hakase said, focusing on the robot instead of looking at Luka.
Luka puffed out her cheeks. "It's boring and they make me do lots of stuff. Takeru is too quiet and Ryunosuke is too loud. Then there's Rinko who's so strict."
"Then watch Marvelous' basketball practice" Hakase suggested. "You always do, right?"
Frowning, she crossed her arms. "I still can't forgive him for taking my seat this morning."
"He just likes playing with you, don't you think so?" He said. Luka pouted but did not speak. Hakase sighed as he completed the robot. Taking the remote, he made it walk around the table. "Yosh."
Kengo watched the robot in amusement. This club was really a good one, with exciting projects and smart club members. "Next time we should add a camera to the robot."
Hiromu nodded, noting it down. "We have to use our budget to buy that."
"No need." Ryuuji said as he stood up and walked over the drawers at the corner of the room. "Jin-sensei gave us different materials that he didn't need."
Hakase immediately walked over to look at the array of materials on the drawer. "Amazing... Jin-sensei sure is amazing..." Hiromu and Kengo joined him in browsing through the materials.
The door opened to reveal three 1st year girls who looked like they were embarrassed about something. They timidly walked towards Ryuuji's desk and said "Good afternoon, sensei" shyly.
Hearing this, the three members looked at the girls and smirked. It was always like this every after class. Since Ryuuji-sensei stays here, it seems like his admirers agreed to visit him whenever they can.
"We baked something during home economics today..." The short-haired one placed a box of cookies on the table and bowed. "I hope you like it."
Ryuuji smiled gently and patted them on the head. "Thank you. They look delicious."
The three blushed deeper and immediately ran away, closing the door behind them.
"Ah~ It's really wrong when the teacher of the club has more girls than the club members~" Hakase said, smiling at their adviser. "Yo, ladies man~"
Laughing, Ryuuji sat back and opened the box. "Here, eat some too. Sugar is good for the brain."
Before the members could get one, Luka snatched a cookie and ate it in one bite. "Mmm... Delicious." She said, smiling contentedly. "I don't get why those little girls would admire such an old man though." She added bluntly.
"No!" Hakase's eyes widened as Ryuuji narrowed his eyes. "That's a taboo!"
"Wh-" Before she could ask what taboo meant, she saw with her own two eyes a glaring Ryuuji who was so unlike the sensei the students' admire. She frowned before snatching one more cookie and running away through the window. "Thanks for the cookies, anyway!"
Hakase immediately put a cold compress on Ryuuji's forehead to calm him down. "Sensei, you shouldn't listen to Luka."
"Thanks Hakase-kun." Ryuuji sighed as he took the cold compress with his hands. "I think I should go to the infirmary to get some medicine." He stood up and walked away.
Sighing, Hakase sat on his usual seat. Kengo took some of the mini cameras from the drawer and placed it on the table, sitting as well. Hiromu looked at his clock and said "I have to go now."
"Say hi to Yoko-chan for me!" Hakase said as Hiromu rushed away. He leaned back on his chair and stared at their robot. "We have a weird adviser, don't we?"
Kengo simply nodded. "I heard it was a genetic disease, that overheating. The trigger is pretty... unconventional."
Hakase laughed. "We're the robotics club so we're no good with biology."
To this, Kengo almost laughed. "We're filled with people with sickness though. Me, Hiromu and Ryuuji-sensei."
"Yosh~" Hakase stood up and stretched. "It's about time to go home. Should we pack up?"
Kengo nodded and placed his things on his bag. They placed the robot in their 'finished project' box and tidied up the place. "I'll be going to the library then, senpai."
Hakase nodded and locked the door.
Library, After class
Koyomi sat on her usual seat behind the desk of the librarian. Every day, she would sit here and wait for students to borrow books. There weren't much students today though, probably because exams were still a bit far off. She turned the page of the book she was reading.
"What are you reading?" A pleasant voice asked from the side. Without her noticing, Philip had walked to his seat beside her noiselessly. He peeked through and read the cover. "After life? Hmmm" He smiled a bit, showing interest. "Do you believe in it, the after life?"
"I've seen it." she answered quietly.
His eyes widened. "How compelling." He faced her fully, his expression showing amazement. "The truth is, me too." He looked like a child sharing his one and only secret. "When I was about 8 years old, I fell into a well and almost died. And there, I saw a light."
That took her interest. When she was in middle school, she and Haruto was in a motorcycle accident that almost claimed their lives. She acquired amnesia while Haruto suffered major injuries. During that time, she saw the light and was sure she was dead. But when she woke up... "You've seen it too." She simply said as memories flooded her. "So it's not only me."
He shook his head happily. "I'm glad to know I'm not the only one." He smiled. "I researched about it before too. I'm interested in how it affects the people who see it."
She watched as he babbled on about his findings, about how the spiritual force of someone who comes back to life is stronger and about how the people involved changes. She had a small smile on as she listened attentively, learning more and more as time passed.
"Do you have books on astronomy?" Kengo stood in front of the information desk, looking at the two librarians who seemed immersed in talking (well the other was, and the other one was listening properly).
The guy looked up with a smile, then in one breath, he listed all the books that dealt with astronomy. He gave the numbers quickly, complete with description of each book.
Koyomi lightly placed a hand on Philip's arm, frowning. He stopped and looked at her. Sighing and rolling her eyes, she took a paper from the pile on the desk. "We have a catalogue for astronomy here" She pointed to one part of the paper. "If you cannot find the book, feel free to ask us."
Kengo nodded, almost smiling at how the guy looked so clueless and how the girl looked so annoyed.
"Utahoshi-senpai, right?" Philip smiled and offered a hand. "I always see you here. I'm Sonozaki Philip." He pointed towards his side. "And this is Koyomi-chan"
Koyomi simply nodded in greeting.
"Nice to meet you." Kengo shook his hand. "And thank you for your help." He said, looking at Koyomi.
"It's what we're supposed to do." She answered curtly.
As Kengo went to look for the books, the door opened as another student came in. "Koyomi." It was Haruto, smiling as he walked to their desk. "Yo, Philip-kun!"
"Oh, Haruto-senpai." Philip nodded his head in greeting. "I heard your class was lively again today. Akiko-chan was talking about it during lunch."
Haruto laughed. "Hino-san just got back. He bought me these!" He raised his hand to show a box of expensive looking sweets. "Plain sugar donuts from another country!" He smiled proudly.
Koyomi rolled her eyes. "That's all you eat." She took her bag and stood up. "I'm going on ahead, Philip-kun."
Philip smiled and nodded. "I'll stay until closing time." He took the book Koyomi was reading from the pile of books returned. "I should read this too, then we could talk about it more tomorrow."
"Suit yourself." Koyomi shrugged even though she was smiling.
"Are~ Koyomi," Haruto stared at her as they walked out of the room. "You're friendly with Philip-kun." He closed the door behind him quietly. His voice showed surprise and amazement.
"Shouldn't I be?" Koyomi asked innocently at him.
He blinked. "I didn't- No, of course you should be friendly with people..." He sighed. "Yeah, it's good to have friends." He brushed his hand through his hair, not sure what to say. "Let's go home" He resorted to saying that as they walked to the bicycle parking at the side of the school building.
Broadcast Club, after class
Wakana smiled cutely at the fanboys who were arranging different flowers on their desk. "Wow, these are beautiful. Thank you~" She smelled one and showed a pleasant expression. "I'm so happy!"
"Now, now, we still need to talk here so if you could just get out," JK pushed the fanboys out with difficulty. "Sonozaki-senpai, I think you should refrain from letting them in the clubroom." He said with an easy going expression. He sat across her and took out his music notes.
"Tsk" She immediately went back to her real character, an easily annoyed high school girl. "Let's throw these away."
"Eeeh?" JK frowned. "They're not a bother and they're from your fans!" He pouted and plucked off one flower. "Popular singers sure are different~"
She frowned. "You're so annoying."
The door opened to reveal four other members: Eri, Yuki, Kotoha and Chiaki. "I'm sorry we're late." Kotoha said as she walked inside and placed her bag at the desk. The four sat down on their usual seats and greeted the two.
Wakana smiled at them and said "Oh you're not late at all. Should we start the meeting?"
JK pouted and looked down, muttering "Two faced rich brat"
"Did you say anything, Kaizou-kun?" Her smile looked understanding and pleasant to the others but JK knew what that smile meant. Besides, she actually called him by his real name. That meant trouble. Real trouble.
"Nothing, nothing!" JK's eyes were wide as he shook his head.
"Very well." Her voice was sweet and calm. "Let's talk about the lunch broadcast tomorrow."
"Me and Eri-senpai could sing, and Kotoha-chan could do the accompaniment." Yuki suggested energetically. When together, the three could sing choir type songs that could soothe anyone.
Chiaki nodded. "Then I could play the drums, JK could play the guitar and Wakana-hime could sing."
"Oh~ That would be nice, being accompanied by Chiaki-kun." Wakana giggled. "Then, we should do that. "Let's allot tomorrow for simple music, ne? We could do the letter reading for another day."
JK glared at her briefly. "Should we practice, them? I know a studio nearby."
"Ah! That's good, that's good!" Eri nodded happily. "Let's all go~!"
The girls smiled excitedly (Wakana smiled sort-of maturely), and Chiaki sighed (he really wanted to go to the arcade today but he can't leave Kotoha alone).
"Let's go~!" Yuki and Eri raised their fists high as they walked out of the classroom.
Tea Ceremony Club, after class
Hyde took his bag and bowed a bit to the other members. "I will excuse myself for now."
"You're going to the martial arts club?" Ryunosuke asked, grinning meaningfully.
Nodding stoically, Hyde opened the door. "I'm sorry I can't go to Ahim-san's house today."
"It can't be helped." Ahim smiled gently. "The Martial Arts club has a practice match today, right? It would be a shame not to watch." She then took a small box of chocolates from one of the tables. "Share these with your friends. Joe-san made a lot so..."
Hyde nodded. "Thank you." He then walked away, closing the door behind him.
"Aah~ I'm the only guy left." Ryunosuke went to Kaoru's side, watching her choose from an array of tea leaves. "Kaoru-hime, are you going to Ahim-chan's house?"
Kaoru looked up at them then went back to looking through the leaves. "I'm sorry. My doctor told me to go home for a check up."
Ryunosuke frowned. "Then..." He looked at Ahim, then as if a great idea hit him, he smiled brightly. "Should we visit the home economics club? It's always interesting to see Mako-chan cooking."
Ahim laughed softly. "I was just thinking of going there. It seems Joe-san and Gai-kun wants us to taste some snacks."
"Ah! Good!" He snatched his bag from the table and walked over to the door. "Let's pass through the student council too, on our way there."
She nodded, taking her bag as well. "Kaoru-chan, aren't you going home?" She then asked, concerned. "We could lock up now if you want."
Kaoru shook her head, smiling softly. "I'll lock up, don't worry. I'll stay for just a few minutes."
About 10 minutes after they were gone, Kaoru stood up and took the containers to place back on the shelves. Holding three containers, she walked to the other side of the room.
"Kaoru-hime's working hard!" Genta came in, smiling widely as he watched her tidy up. "Ready to go home?"
She sighed. "Sure." She took her bag and walked over to him. "Don't grin so much. It's just because my driver got sick today, that's all."
He continued grinning, taking her bag from her hold. "Let me be~" He laughed. "I wonder how your butler would react though."
"He would be extremely angry, I suppose." She answered, imagining the look of her old butler. "I won't let him be impolite, do not worry."
He simply laughed at that and walked forward, matching his pace with hers.
Home Economics Club, After class
Ahim, Ryunosuke, and Takeru (who was just dragged here by Ryunosuke), stood in front of the clubroom. There was a sweet aroma coming from inside. Ryunosuke knocked two times before opening the door.
The sight that they saw was... well, let's just say Ryunosuke was so shocked he gasped and ran away crying.
Though of course, that was just Ryunosuke being his exaggarated self. What they saw was Hina and Gai decorating cupcakes while Mako was mixing the batter. Joe was standing behind Mako, holding her hand and obviously teaching her how to mix it properly.
"Seems like you're having fun, Mako" Takeru stepped in, looking around the room.
Ahim smiled and walked forward as well, going to the cupcake designing table to see how they were doing.
Mako blinked in surprise before dropping the spoon she was using and stepping away from Joe. The guy simply walked over to Ahim's side. She stepped forward towards Takeru and asked "Why are you here?" while blushing. "Aren't you supposed to be in the student council?"
Takeru shrugged. "Ryunosuke." was his simple answer. He walked to her side and looked at the batter, smiling a bit. "Looks edible."
She puffed up her cheeks, hitting him on the arm. "Of course it is! Meanie!"
He chuckled. "Me?" He dipped his finger in the batter and tasted it. He nodded. "Joe," He faced the other guy. "You did a good job."
Mako, annoyed, stepped on his shoe and marched off to the other table. "Stupid Takeru."
"You did a good job, Mako" Takeru said out loud before walking away to the door. "I guess I should go back to the student council room."
"W-wait!" Mako shouted, cheeks flushed. She snatched a cupcake from the table and walked to him, stretching out her hand to give it to him. "Here. I guess it's hard work to be the president. You need to take a break sometimes."
He gave her one of his sincerest smiles. "Thank you."
Martial Arts Club (Practice Match day), after class
It was about 15 minutes before the matches would start. The members were doing their warm ups on the side while the audience piled in. The members of the mystery club (Shoutaro, Akiko, Tomoko and Shunpei) sat beside each other on one bench, looking excited as they watched the people around.
"Ryu-kun, ganbatte!" Akiko shouted to the other side of the room where Terui Ryu was stretching. Though embarrassed, Terui smiled and waved quickly towards her direction.
"We need to cheer for Terui Ryu, since he's an important club member of the mystery club!" Shoutaro announced to his co-members. "Oh but you can cheer for your friends too, of course."
Tomoko nodded, hands clasped together as she watched Ryusei. "Ganbatte ne, Ryusei-san." She muttered as if in prayer.
He caught her eyes and waved the same way Terui did. "I'll do my best." He mouthed with a smile. He raised his hand and opened it, showing a charm she made years back. "Walk with me home?" he asked.
She simply nodded happily, knowing for sure that he will win for her.
"I'm sure they'll do great, ne." Shunpei stared wide eyed at the martial club members. "Terui-senpai and Ryusei-senpai both looks cool."
Shoutaro glanced at Shunpei. "Are you sure you're okay with staying here? Your precious Haruto-senpai and Rinko-senpai are both in the basketball gym."
"Can I watch that?" Shunpei asked like a child. "President, can I?"
Laughing, Shoutaro patted him on the head. "Of course, little one. You have to cheer for you idol. Besides, this isn't a mandatory club work. You can skip today."
Shunpei grinned widely and nodded. "Yatta~ Thanks senpai. You're the best~"
Hyde came in just a few minutes before the match. He walked over to his friends, greeting "Good afternoon" as soon as they saw him.
Their faces lit up. "Hyde!" Agri clapped him on the back. "I'm glad you could watch."
Moune grinned. "You could see me throw those amateurs!" She said proudly.
"Have you fixed your posture yet?" Hyde asked seriously. "If you could just-"
She pouted. "Mou! Such a nitpicky person!" She hit him on the chest with her fist lightly. "I can do it on my own, ojii-san!"
Hyde's eyes widened, losing his cool for a moment. "Who are you calling ojii-san?!"
"Stop treating me like a child, Hyde'jii-san!" She turned her back on him and crossed her arms.
"What did I do?" Hyde frowned and asked Agri.
Agri simply sighed. "Quit being such a nitpicky person, Hyde. Moune will continue getting angry if you're like that."
Hyde simply stared at her back, feeling the aura of anger exuding from it. With a sigh, he put a hand on the top of her head and whispered. "Good luck, Moune." before going back to his seat at the audience.
"You have to focus, my dear sister." Agri laughed as he watched Moune's face turn into different shades of red in a matter of seconds.
"Shut up!"
Basketball Gym, After class
Rinko sat on the bench, looking around the gym for any signs of Haruto. "Marvelous-san!" She called out. "Did Haruto skip practice?"
Marvelous shrugged. "That Haruto probably went to fetch her little girl friend."
"How lucky~" Shun groaned as he lied on the floor tiredly. "I want to have Miu here too."
"What did you say?" came Miu's voice from behind him. Before he could answer, Miu rushed to Marvelous and gave him a bottle of water and a towel. "Do you best ne, Marvelous-san." She smiled at him sweetly.
"Miu~~~" Shun sulked on the floor, crying in despair at his lost love.
Basco laughed out loud and sat beside the crying Shun. "Oh don't worry. There are lots of girls there for you."
"I only want Miu!" Shun declared.
"I only want Luka- would be what Marvelous would probably say." Basco nodded, enjoying himself.
A basketball was thrown from the back of the gym, hitting him right on the head. "Stupid." Luka shouted.
Marvelous smirked. "Good throw." He said.
"Thanks" Luka laughed.
"Aah~ They have a nice atmosphere." Miu whispered as she helped Shun stand up. "That's such a shame."
Shun smiled his usual smile and said "That's why you should just love me, Miu."
"No thanks." She walked over to the seats for the audience and sat beside a bickering Ankh and Eiji. "What a lively bunch" she said.
Eiji looked up, and with a smile greeted her. "Is cheerleading practice over, Miu-senpai?"
She nodded. "How about you, Hino-kun? Aren't you gonna practice basketball with Marvelous-san?"
"Oh I'm still a bit tired from my flight." He replied.
"I know the feeling." Miu sighed. "It's really a hassle to go to another country on a school day, isn't it?"
Eiji laughed. "Exactly. Miu-senpai goes to a lot of places too, right? The Kazashiro company is well known all over the world."
"It's nothing big." She smiled humbly. "Hino-kun's parents are more powerful than us, aren't they?"
"Quit the blabbering" Ankh groaned. "You're just flattering each other."
Frowning, Eiji hit Ankh's head with one of his rod-like souvenirs.
"OUCH!"
Shunpei panted as he arrived at the gym, looking around for his beloved senpai. "Ah, Rinko-senpai!" He walked over to her and smiled brightly. "Where's Haruto-senpai?"
"Probably went to fetch Koyomi-chan." Rinko answered, watching the remaining members. "Too bad we couldn't see him."
"Let's just go to his house later!" Shunpei offered. "I want to borrow Koyomi-chan's notes too." He laughed.
"I'll send him a mail." Rinko said, smiling.
Tokugawa Middle School, After class
Yoko sat on the side of the garden, looking at the greenhouse with a smile. She was in charge of taking care of the animals inside, including the bunny and the chicken. Of course, she would have to stay outside the garden to wait for her friend. She knew he was scared of chickens, no matter how strong he may look. It was his number one weakness.
"Were you waiting long?" Hiromu arrived just in time, riding his red motorcycle. "Hop in"
"Yay~" She sat on the back, placing her arms around his waist for safety. She wore the yellow helmet he especially bought for her. "Let's go to the parfait place before going home?"
He laughed. "I knew you'd say that." He said.
"Come on! I did well in my test today, so you have to reward me something!" She insisted.
"Jaa, just this once." He grinned, revving up the motorcycle. "You sure love sweets. I'm sure you would love our Home Ec club. They make all sorts of snacks."
"Waiii~" She tightened her grip as the motorcycle started moving. "I'll definitely enter your school next year!"
"Study hard then" He advised.
"Of course I will!"
SO YEAH. Will have an After School Special and some other stories next time. Because I enjoy my crossover ships a lot.
