Opening

The episode starts with a thunderous drumtrio by Yodogawa Yoshihiro, Nakajima Yuto and Hagiya Keigo (!). I was looking forward to see Keigo playing drums since he mentioned it in a Jr. YouBin segment but I didn't really expected to actually see it on Shonen Club, so this was a real surprise. And he did great. There were quite a few drumsolos on SC in the last two years, but this was the best one. Not only because of Keigo, it was also the best drumwork I've seen of Yuto on Shonen Club. And Yoshihiro doesn't have to prove his skills already.

The three drummers drumming leads over to the actual opening song "Dash!!" performed by Arioka Daiki, Takaki Yuya, Hip Hop Jump + Morimoto Shintaro, JaPAnese Hi!, TOY, Nakajima Kento, Matsumura Hokuto, Question? and lots of Juniors. And Yuto, of course. A great performance with lots of energy, dancing, jumping and even acrobatics (by Hayashi Takuto). A perfect opener. I would even say it was one of the best SC-openings ever. But maybe that is just because I love drumsolos or in this case drumtrios. And "Dash!!" seems to be a song that everyone loves doing on stage, at least that's the impression I get here.

Intro-Talk

Intro-Talk (a bit longer than usual) with Daiki, Yuto and Yuya about the episodes theme "sound" in general and the drumtrio at the beginning in particular. I really like how high spirited Yuto seems to be everytime afterwards he performed "Dash!!" (He keeped that cheerful attidude for the whole episode).

Junior-Medley

The theme-medley. Since I didn't get the relation of the following songs to the theme "sound" (except that they all sound excellent) I labeled this as "Junior Medley". And it is a great one. It starts with "Rescue", one of my favourite KAT-TUN songs performed by Hip Hop Jump (with Morimoto Shintaro as regular member, at least so it seems). Really good and with Tanaka Juris rapping in the center of attention. Speaking of attention, the camera fully ignored Morohoshi Shoki and Kadoi Kento, wich is the only thing I have to criticize here. On the other hand, I'm kind of used to this.

Next part is "Secret Agent Man" by JaPAnese Hi! with Sato Shori, Matsushima Sou and Kuramoto Kaoru as frontmen. If anyone still thinks Shori doesn't belong in a group that has the term "Sexy" in their name than watch him in this performance and think again. A very strong performance, altough the Michael Jackson impersonator was totally out of place in this. Sou seemed to think the same from the look of his face at the beginning of the song. Or maybe he just tried to make a serious face. Also notable: Kishi Yuta is clearly very protective about his mic and holds it almost the hole time in place. For obvious reasons, if you remember the previous episode.

During the next part "Crazy Funky Town" Shori, Sou and Kaoru were joined by some of the elder ones of JaPAnese Hi! in the frontline (including Wakiyama Rei and Takahashi Saneyasu from Johnnys Jr. Land, wich makes this the first time I actually recognized them on the SC stage). The medley ends with a very fine version of "Ai no Matador" by TOY. Great Medley!

Talk

Talk part with Daiki, Yuto, Yuya and Question? members Igo Akun, Yodogawa Yoshihiro and Fujiie Kazuyori about the episodes theme. Goto Hiromi was absent because he was on Shonentachi as this was recorded. Not sure about Ishigaki Daisuke, but I guess he was there, too.

Everybody go

Kis-my-Ft2 with the felt twentyfifth performance of "Everybody go" on Shonen Club. It is still a nice song and the performance is very good, but personally I don't need a performance of it everytime Kis-my-Ft2 comes in sight. Nevertheless, as said, this was a good performance.

Jr. YouBin

Highly amusing Jr. YouBin hosted by Nakajima Kento (who seems to be the only constant host of this segment) and Tanaka Juri with Igo Akun about what to do if someone dozes off at your shoulder while you ride the train or the subway. Really nice! This segment has become so much better since they stopped to just show look-a-like pictures.

Kis-My-Ft2 Medley I

Medley of "Rock U" by Kitayama Hiromitsu with TOY in the back and "S.O.KISS" by the whole Kis-my-Ft2 line-up. This represents a side of Kis-my-Ft2 I don't like very much. The songs aren't that bad but I dislike the unatural plastic sound very much. Maybe you will like it better than me so here is the link anyways:

Yokubo no Rain

Surprise, surprise: A Nakajima Kento solo on SC. For the very first time, if I'm not totally wrong. Good performance, but not a personal highlight to me. But thats just because of the Song "Yokubo no Rain" (originally by KinKi Kids), wich I just don't like very much. Ironically you will never see more of Matsumura Hokuto in the entire episode than in this Nakajima Kento solo, but thats just as a side note.

Shonentachi VTR

Video summary from this years Shonentachi performances featuring A.B.C-Z, various Kansai Juniors like Shigeoka Daiki, Kamiyama Tomohiro, Hamada Takahiro and Kiriyama Akito. We also get to see Shonentachis "special guest" Kikuchi Fuma in this.

Kis-my-Ft2 Medley II

The second Kis-my-FT2 medley is much more according to my taste than the first one. Consisting of "Hair" and "Fire beat" and performed with Question?. I've seen better performances of these songs by Kis-my-Ft2 before, but I prefer a solid performance of these songs over something like the first medley or even worse  something like "3 D Girl" by far!

Ending

Ending song is "Good-Bye, Thank You" by Kis-my-Ft2 with Nakajima Kento, Tanaka Juri and Kyomoto Taiga joining in. Towards the end all the other (older) juniors and the hosts are coming on stage too.

Well, and that was it. This episode started as explosive as possible, delivering two of the most interesting SC performances of this year directly at the beginning and then strongly flaged down during the second half. But maybe thats just my impression, since I'm not the biggest Kis-my-Ft2 fan in the world and the emphasis on them in the second half was maybe just to much for me.

One short notice, even I'm pretty sure most of you are aware of that already: The pre-orders for the Sexy Zone single are up on YesAsia and CDJapan since today. And since there are five (!) diffrent editions to choose from (three of them have "With You" as B-Side), I'm pretty sure you will find one that pleases you (people who pre-order also get a free poster). Or you can emulate to me and buy all of them. That way we can go broke together...
