I admit it.  I haven't watched Life yet.  But I have watched a lot of the new shows this season.  And it leaves me with only one huge, enormous question:

Why is NBC struggling?  Only two of its scripted shows -- Law & Order: SVU and Heroes are in the top 20 for the season.  NBC is a distant third in the total ratings chase (and only barely ahead of ( Read more... )

So, Tuesday didn't have a lot that I watched -- just  Reaper and The War.  The War is moving along as expected, although we've reached D-Day 6 1/2 hours into a 15 1/2 hour presentation (I expect part IV tonight, D-Day, to be lengthy).  As for Reaper, it seems promising, feeling a lot like the Buffy/Smallville Monster-of-the-Week formula.

Monday's shows proved every bit as great as I'd hoped.

HIMYM -- We find out that Ted is bigger than Enrique Iglesias and likes Mandy Moore's tats.  Fantastic.

Heroes -- Information overload?  A whole lot of filling us in without really advancing the story arc.  You can tell this is the first episode in a new arc.

The CW is still a netlet...and its shows are up and down. I like some shows, but THEY CANCELLED VERONICA MARS!!!! On the bright side, they picked up some decent-sounding stuff.  The one thing I like about the CW is, that like the WB and UPN, the little net has to take chances, so it's more adventurous.  Unfortunately, since the Frog abandoned its ( Read more... )

The FOX network makes it very, very hard to like any new show.  If you watch a new show you like, there is about a 25% chance that it will either be moved to a new timeslot or cancelled by the next episode, and with each episode, that chance increases dramatically.  The only logical explanation for FOX's behavior is an elaborate advertising ( Read more... )
