If my life was an rpg

As I've written before, I'm preparing to journey abroad, and quite looking forward to it. I've not really begun equipping for it yet, but others have their ideas of necessary equipment. It has actually been reminiscent of the classic scene of (clichéed) fantasy rpgs, where seemingly everyone has something to equip the travelling protagonists with.
The thought only struck me after visiting my mother a couple of weeks ago. I asked her to repair my leather jacket, which she then did. It was a bit hard I think, and as she began swearing at the (word) leather, that wouldn't (word) do what it was (word) supposed to, we got to talking about one of my parents' acquintances back when I was a child. Her language was dripping sulfuric acid and brimstone... it was so bad, that my mother referred to it as "blessing" - as in "our former acquintance blessed the horses as they ran off". It was only when my mother gave me back my jacket and told me, that it was newly blessed, I came to think of the "equipping for adventure"-scene.
A few days later, a colleague of mine gave me this lip-ointment, but told me that I could use it for small cuts and bruises too, as it contained some flower-extracts and other goodies, which had some healing properties.
My regular group of co-workers gave me a gift certificate for a book-store. most skills are at least in part, learned by studying them.

So, that meant that before leaving, I'd gotten
- a blessed light leather armor.
- an ointment of healing
- and a rank in a skill of my own choice

Now I'm just waiting for either the boss or my other Iranian colleague to hand me a dagger (there is this old Persian knife called an akinake, and it's every backstabbers delight - pommel made for both punching and regular use, double-edged... it's a good design). That would make me a well-equipped adventurer. So, only question now is: Where's the dungeon in Thailand?
