So...on saturday morning, all of a sudden i see my mom spring up from the table where she was eating breakfast and rush off to get dressed. She had been on the phone, but i wasnt really paying attention to whatever conversation she was having. Now, my gramma had been at the hospital for a couple days because of foot swelling, which is a recurring problem with her. So, saturday someone from the hospital had called my mom and told her that my gramma had fallen down in the bathroom at the hospital and hit her head, and she had a bump on her head and couldnt move. Panic ensues in my family, my mom heads off to the hospital, and everyone starts freaking out, I talked to two of my aunts on the phone who were already crying and I tried to calm them down, telling them not to think the worse before it happened and to pray that she would be ok. Of course i was worried, but i dont like to freak out without just reason, so i just tried to think positively and go about my business, although everytime the phone rang (which was frequent, i had to explain to various family members what happened...) i thought it was to deliver bad news. But, fortunately some hours later my uncle called and said she was ok. She had fallen down around one am and another patient found her some time later and called the nurses. When my mom came home she told us that gramma was lucky to be alive, because first of all, she is taking some medication to thin her blood, and any cut she gets could cause her to bleed alot, which would be detremental. Also, the doctors told my mom that if she had gotten internal bleeding from her bump, she would have died. I'm just glad she's ok, i couldnt handle her dying now....neither could this family, though i know its inevitable....I mean, she fell down, and already three of my aunts broke down completely....it was pretty scaring, really bad foreshadowing. I remember wen my granpa died in 1995 (i never knew him, therefore couldnt really be sad...) We were in trinidad, and wen my mom got that call....wow, she lost it 100% It was the scariest thing. So...i hope gramma doesnt go anytime soon.....
