I've been meaning to go down there and see the stuff Didier has in the exhibit. I guess it's been there for a while, but I didn't hear about it until last week. How'd you like it?

snorkeling sounds cool! where at? I've only been once at Catalina, and I got claustrophobic :(

I went there once a couple of years ago, and all but two galleries were closed. It was still pretty neat (I use that word waaay too much). It's free the second tuesday of the month (I think)!

We went to La Jolla Cove. Saw tons of neat fishies, individual and schools, and a bat ray, and also had a panic attack due to the malfunction of the snorkel :(

I know overall the debate is pretty silly, but it's a fun subject to argue. If the resolution is passed, Charon will be considered a planet?? Ceres? Etc. It's going to screw up the order of planets that most people learned and are familiar with. And, how many more trans-Neptunian object will we find that fit in the category. Who knows what the total of planets we'll be, in say 50 years?

What was the malfunction? My main malfunction was that water kept getting in it =P But I also didn't like how it's really awkward to breathe just through your mouth; it doesn't feel right. So when I relaxed about it and breathed through my nose, it created a vacuum that felt worse and that was really scary, so I didn't go back out the second time. I'll take just swimming, thank you! Actually, I wouldn't mind trying it again... :)

Well, it was a "high tech" snorkel and had some kind of flippy contraption on top that if waves were to crash over you or if you dive down, no water would flow in. The second time I went out, the contraption got stuck and there I was way out into the cove and the waves were a little too active, and when I went to breathe, all I got was water. So I took it off, but once again the waves were a bit crazy and I couldn't get any air. I panicked, but thankfully David and his brother were nearby so I had help.

The breathing is really weird. It reminded me of 2010 when John Lithgow had a hard time breathing in his space suit. So I remembered the advice the Russian guy gave him, and everything was a-okay. We might go again next week if you're interested!!
