Buddah, Go home!

ok, so, i randomly clicked on a link that said "you might be a fundy athiest if..." just because, well, shit, it sounded funny. i can always poke fun at myself for being a psuedo athiest ( ilike ideas, not religions...) and started reading. i kept reading, even though i was even mildly offended by some of the ideas that this group was putting forth. the entire list was getting on moronic athiests cases for generalizing and not getting facts straight... by generalizing and assuming every athiest thought like this.

and as a cya (cover your ass) clause, the final "you might be a fundy athiest if" statement is 281. Last of all -- you write this website a letter which includes a rebuttal to the above listing!

now is that not fucking brilliant?some of the things that they stated in there where a, well, yeah, that is annoying... but some of them where flat out stabs at athiest movements and bullshit.

example of double backing made by the author of this list:
83. You not only spell "God" with a lower case "g," but you also add an "E" to "B.C.," and replace the word "Christ" with an "x." Yet, when asked to name the planets you have no problem with spouting out the appropriate list of Roman Gods. Heck, you'll even spell them with capital letters! Not only that, you can even spell and pronounce the name of the 800-mile-diameter Trans-Neptunian Object 'Quaoar', and are delighted that it comes from the creation mythology of the Tongva people (aka the San Gabrielino Native Americans).
84. In addition, you say that terms like "AD", "BC" and "christmas" (as opposed to "winter holiday season" :D ) are medieval, outdated, bigoted poison and must be eliminated at all costs from the world, yet the fact that our months and days are largely named after Roman, viking etc. figures (eg. Janus - January, Thor - Thursday) is a glowing testimony to the diverse and wonderful nature of human history

Reasoning for that quote is that the author gets on the case of athiests for adding an E becuase than it is more pc fopr refering to things that are not covered in creationism, but are being talked about, like dinosaurs, etc. it's a "Before Common Era" not an attack on the modern nomenclature of "before christ." secondly it's here because they start off on harping on the usage of standardized names for the planets (named after roman gods because it was a, gasp, roman who began the philosophy of astronomy) ph and somehow, equating the adding of an E to BC and asking something about an elementery item, such as the planets names (what, would the author like us to change the names to something else? or mayb completly re-write history, so that we all call them by astronomical indexes, say maybe something like pluto is now PX170114 or something like that (i have know idea whether or not PX170114 is an actuall astronomical idex or not, i hope it isn't) well, i think i'm done ranting about it. i know i haven't actually gone to indepth on it, but the stupidity combined with inteligence that went into makeing this list is just, well, appalling that they could be so mcuh like what they are bitching about, and yet so very intelligent.

here's a link to it, read it if you like. but this is my two cents on it.

while not a fundy christian site.... they sure seem like it with this garbage.
