Summary: Aoi's a thinker, Uruha's a dreamer; Aoi occupied Uruha's mind and Uruha occupied Aoi's heart.

Aoi was a thinker - calm, rational, responsible. Though he shows a more laid back attitude at times, at the very core he liked to use his head. Conjure interesting thoughts and create intricate melodies. There was not one moment that he said something that didn’t make sense; he might make it sound lighter than it really means, but there’s always something intellectual behind his words. Perhaps wisdom does come with age, but the bottom line is, he was a thinker.

Uruha was a dreamer - carefree, passionate, always in his pace. Though he might be a little mellower than the others he shared his characteristics with, Uruha’s ideas always flowed when the right buttons are pushed. He liked coming up with fantastic things and always strived for the best pleasures in life. Needless to say he liked living each day to the fullest, living out his ultimate dream. He didn’t want to concern himself much with the technicality of things he came across. Instead, he always went with what his intuition says, what his heart dictates.

So it was somewhat twisted that he always used his head whenever Aoi was concerned. But he finds it even more twisted that Aoi never seemed to use his head when it came to him.

It wasn’t lost on Uruha that Aoi held some sort of feeling for him. Constantly brushing shoulders with him, calling him at an ungodly hour (eight in the morning, or so) to ask which songs they were to practice, and even more ridiculous, asking help for his television when he could very well just contact an electrician. Uruha had to admit, those silly gestures were kind of cute. Even so, he couldn’t let himself believe that there was something beyond the fact that Aoi was just a little bit of an attention whore or something along those lines. Anything other than that just didn’t compute in his brain. And so he couldn’t let himself develop another sort of feeling for the older man just yet.

But of course he wasn’t blind nor was he dumb. In today’s standards, harbouring romantic feelings for someone of the same sex as you was still unacceptable, but not impossible. That made Uruha’s brain bleed a little, that Aoi could possibly - most probably - be in love with him. Somehow it didn’t make sense that a grown, logical man such as Aoi would have what seemed to be a teenage - rather, childish - crush on Uruha. It confused the younger a lot, leaving him in distraught for days. Uruha hated the feeling of being confused when, technically, there was no reason to be. Needless to say, Aoi always occupied his mind, and it irritated him to no end. How can one person invade his thoughts twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week anyway?

There was a sudden nudge at the back of his head and Uruha groaned, turning back to shoot a venomous glare to whoever did that do him. But upon figuring who it was, his expression was reduced to a seemingly whiny pout. “What do you want?” Uruha spat, roaming his eyes around the room only to notice that everybody left already.

Aoi replied with a grin. “You were spacing out.”

“So?” Uruha raised a brow, pushing his seat backward so he could already stand up and leave. Another meeting passed without his input, but then again, “What else is new?”

“You weren’t daydreaming like usual,” the older said as a matter-of-factly, “You seemed to be thinking of something serious.”

This time Uruha quirked another brow so now both were raised, as he started heading for the door. Surely Aoi was trying to catch his attention again, but for some reason he couldn’t help but entertain the other.

Walking beside the blond, Aoi continued, “Your brows were creasing like this-” He made a stupid face and Uruha let out a small laugh, “-and Kai thought you were actually paying attention for once, but I knew better.”

“Really now?” Uruha said smugly, and Aoi just smiled.

They entered the elevator without much sound, though Uruha could feel Aoi’s gaze burn at his sides. He creased his brows again and turned to the older, as if saying ‘what now?’ with his eyes. Aoi answered with another charming smile. The ride to the ground floor had been silent all throughout, but just before the elevator doors opened Aoi suddenly asked, “What were you thinking about anyway?”

Uruha stopped in his tracks and looked back at Aoi, who already walked past him. For a second there he just stared at the older dumbfoundedly before he noticed that the doors were about to close. He immediately stepped out of the way and then caught up with Aoi. “N...none of your business.”

There was a sudden mischievous glint at the corner of Aoi’s eyes, and it didn’t make Uruha feel at ease at all, more so when the older smirked haughtily. “You were thinking about me, weren’t you?” Aoi said teasingly - of course he wasn’t being serious, but merely being his playful self. So when Uruha started to turn a little bit red, Aoi was quite shocked. “You were?”

“You wish!” Uruha shouted defensively, narrowing his eyes at the older. Sometimes he hated how Aoi could seem to read his every action. He quickened his pace and pushed the door begrudgingly, hating how Aoi’s laughter ringed in his ears.

“You were!” Aoi repeated, walking faster as well so that he was in front of the younger man. “If you really weren’t you won’t be as defensive as you are now.” He laughed again and then turned his back from Uruha and towards the street, on the lookout for a cab.

Uruha rolled his eyes and childishly shoved his hands on his pant pockets, stretching his head out to look for a cab as well. “I hate you.”

As if on cue, a cab stopped directly in front of them and Aoi immediately stepped up, opening the door for himself. “And I love you too.” A sincere smile formed on the older’s lips and Uruha couldn’t help but just stare at him. “See you tomorrow, Uruha.”

Within moments, the cab was gone and Uruha sighed deeply. Somehow Aoi has found a way to his heart, too.
