Chapter 46
Cruel Destiny
The loud noise had startled him. Minutes later the black satin that covered his eyes was removed but, his hands were still bounded. Jaejoong’s frowns for second and then sigh. He looks around him. There are about fifteen men surrounding him obviously armed. He doesn’t remember how he got there. The last thing that he remembered was, he was standing at the bus stop and someone had approach him….and then suddenly everything’s black. He might have fainted because someone knocked him hard. The back of his neck felt really painful and it was aching. But strangely he still can be calm during the situation.
“Where am I?” Jaejoong asks the person that stands beside him. The man smirked and shrugged his shoulder.
“Welcome…..you like this place?” The voice startled Jaejoong’s. He looks at the new man that standing in front of him.
“You……” He’s frowning for seconds and then he gasped. The man laughed at his reaction. He then turns to one of his man.
“Bring some chairs and take off the rope that binds him.” His men nodded and quickly do as what their boss commands. Few minutes later few men come in bringing two chairs with them. The man gesture Jaejoong too sit on one of the chair. Jaejoong follows obediently knowing that he has no choice in that matter.
“Ah…..got any clues? Need I to remind you?” The man arched his eyebrows with smirked on his lips.
“You are the man in the flower shop; the calla lilies ahjussi. Why am I here? Did I do something that offended you?” Jaejoong asked curiously. As far as he knows, beside from their first meeting at the flower shop before, he never met the man again. It makes him more confused as to why he is here right now.
“Unfortunately no…” The man denies it firmly. He looks straight to Jaejoong’s eyes.
“Then…..why???” Jaejoong shudders by the intense stare. Something’s telling him that the man…this man that sits in front of him right now is dangerous man.
“Someone owes me large debt that I need to collect….It due about eighteen years….” The man tapped his finger on his tights while say the words with creepy smile that appear on his lips. Jaejoong looks down to the floor while thinking about what the man had said…Something clicks in his head….and then he sigh.
“Let me guess……My…mother.” Jaejoong’s looking at the man as waiting for the conformation to what he doubted before.
“Correct young man!!! You definitely know your mother very well.” The man clapped his hand together and then grins at him. Jaejoong sigh frustrated. This always happened to him. He thought his life will get better but seems like he can’t escape from his mother shadow wherever he goes.
“What…..did she do this time?” Jaejoong gripped his hands tightly. He got feeling this time his mother might doing something’s really-really bad that make this man very angry at her.
“It is something that cannot, and will not be paid by money.” The man looks so sad when he said the words.
“Wh…what do you mean?” Jaejoong’s shivers when he realizes there was a deep meaning to what the man was saying. The man saw Jaejoong shivering. He chuckles.
“Oh you already figured it out?” The man smirked with an evil grin.
“Wh…wh..why me???” Jaejoong asked with stuttering words while looking at the man with fear in his eyes.
“Why I guess???? You’re clever son. I guess you know the answer already.” The man laughed loudly. He actually felt great seeing the calm, young boy that he met moments ago turn to fear.
“It’s always likes this! Why do I have to pay for the sins that she does? Why!? I didn’t do anything to you!!!” Jaejoong finally exploded with his deep emotions. Anger, frustration and fear all coming out at once. He just can’t take it anymore. He still remembered when he got a beating by loan sharks when his mother ran from fail paying her debts, and he was who the one know nothing got the ‘prize’ from all her doing. It’s not only once that this has happened, it’s happened many times. But her mother never ever felt sorry for him…History seems to repeat once again….
But for sure, the question was an eye opener. His question actually makes the man silent.
“Because…..you’re her son…That’s the biggest mistake since you’re born!”
“It’s not my fault! What choice do I have? I didn’t choose to be borne by her. It’s my destiny to have a mother like her!” The answer had hurt Jaejoong. He can’t ever deny the fact that he was her son!
“Then….you can say that you definitely have brutal destiny.” The man concludes it as so, but there’s truth in his words. Jaejoong only can agree. That’s definitely his destiny. His unfair destiny!
“What….did she do?” Jaejoong muster himself to ask. If he dies, he needs to know the reason for his death. The man looks at him. Jaejoong wonders, why it takes a long time to answer the simple question.
“She killed my son; my only son!” The man says the words with miserable smile.
“If he was still alive, he might be around you age. But guess what? You mother killed him…Killed my only son… Tell me, how am I supposed to let you go?” The anger in the man voice is clear. The grit for revenge is showing in his eyes. Jaejoong shakes when he hears the truth.
“She...killed?!?…..” Jaejoong’s mind was still trying to process everything that has been said. He feels confused and scared after realizing what his mother had done.
“Yes! My son died in her hands…..I want her to feel the same way as I do. To know what it feels like to lose a son!” He suddenly stands up from his chair and walk towards Jaejoong.
“That means…” Jaejoong bites his lower lip. He knows he has no way out now. Obviously he only has one way….the cruel way that is to….Die.
“Yes. In other words, to make her feel the same……You have to die; die like my son has died in her hands.” The man confirms his thoughts. Jaejoong looks at the man for moment and blinks a few times…
“I….die….” He muttered the words before gasping….He remember something. He then panicked.
“I want to settle your feelings before I leave Yun. I don’t want you to worry about me even after we’re apart..I can take care myself. I’m strong Yun….Stronger than you ever think that I’ll be. I’ll live for you. This I can promise you for sure.”
He remembers the promise that he made to someone that he’ll continue to live but now…… Tears fallen down to his cheeks….If this was two years ago, he might have no regrets to die but now, he has someone that he wants to protect…..
“I’m sorry son. That is your fate or what you’ve called as destiny to because of your mother.” The man just looks at him, and watching as the streaming tears come down younger’s face. Even though he felt pity seeing his tears…but no….that still can’t washed away the anger, the revenge for what he felt to his mother!
“I…..no…Yunho…….” Jaejoong shakes his head few times. Yunho smile flashes in his mind. What will happen if Yunho finds his body the same way his brother was found?? No...No…He can’t let this happen….He won’t let Yunho breaks down again…Even if he has to die, he won’t die like this..He must find away to make sure Yunho won’t relapse to the dark side once more!
“You already divorced him, so what’s the point of calling his name.”
“You…ho…how did you know?” Jaejoong looks at the man with gasp. As far as he knows his marriage was secret...There’s only few people know…and this man even knew that he already divorced! It scared him to know, how many secrets this man knows.
“I know almost everything about you.” The man confirms his thoughts with a smirked. Of course he knows since he already made a background check on him since beginning. He put lots of money and hard work to collect any information since most of it was been hidden pretty well by his ex wife!
“I…I don’t have a choice do I?” Jaejoong looks at him with defeated eyes. He knows very well he has no option in this.
“Unfortunately, yes.” The man nodded.
“I….can I choose the way I die?”
“Uh? What??” The man startled when he hears Jaejoong request. He looks at Jaejoong to make sure what he heard was right. The young man eyes show he was dead serious.
“You said you know everything about me. So you must know, even if I dies, I don’t want the people that take care of me for this past two years be affected…Most likely he might be endangered for having the same situation that will possibly break him again.”
“Are you talking about Mr. Yunho?” The man raised his eyebrows. He checked everything about Jaejoong but not Yunho. He just knows the little things about Mr. Yunho. So to know this young man sacrifice amused him.
“He lost his brother once because of a kidnapping. He tried to recover….Please…You wanted me to die…Than….I’ll do it...I’ll die…but please….please just not like this…I beg of you please….” Jaejoong’s pleads desperately. For Yunho he puts his pride aside. He won’t let Yunho breakdown by experiencing the same agony again.
“I’m not really cruel you know. If that what’s you want. Then fine. I’m honoring you to choose the way you die. I give you until the sun down tomorrow to say your farewells.” The man smirks. Well….That will be the cleanest crime that he ever done. Who will risk this opportunity, right?
“Thank you…for giving me some time.” Jaejoong smiles sadly….It’s enough for him…really that’s all he ever need.
“Don’t thank me yet! If you fail or do something stupid, I’ll send two of your friends that ‘follows’ you. I’m considering putting ‘that person’ on the list as.” The man puts Junsu and Yoochun picture on Jaejoong’s lap while pressing on the matter of ‘that person’. Jaejoong gasped knowing very well what the man try to tell him and who ‘that person’ is.
“No…no…I’ll promise you…I’ll be ‘gone’ by that time.” He’s not stupid…He definitely won’t put Junsu, Yoochun and Yunho lives on the line. If his life can save them, you bet it! He’ll do anything to make sure they are safe and sound!
“Here….This is known as the most poisonous pill on earth. It will stop your lungs for only a few seconds. The fastest death, and you’ll feel no pain at all.” The man handed tiny bottle with only two pills on it. Jaejoong reaches the tiny bottle and stares inside it.
“If I met your son….I’ll tell him he has a good father.” Jaejoong put the bottle in his pocket before looking at the man.
“Uh…WH...What?” The man looks at him with wide eyes. That surprises him. His heart suddenly felt hurt when he hears the young man say something like that to him….his soon to be murder…
“Do you want to give message to him?” Jaejoong smiles sadly at him….part of him believe this person in front of him is a good father to his son. The man stares at the young man in front of him without words. Suddenly the door open with someone’s comes running through it.
“NO….don’t…eh?” The person that comes in looks at both of them with startled look. The man just sigh and then shakes his head few times.
“Uh…send him home.” The man turned his back to Jaejoong’s while talking to his man. The man nodded and quickly moves closer to where Jaejoong sit.
“And you…..If I don’t see your lifeless body tomorrow…You’ll see the people that you love slowly, one by one dies in front your eyes everyday!” The man says the words without looking at him. Jaejoong gasped…
“Wait…you’re…Jaejoong?” The man who just comes in holds his hand. Jaejoong looks at the man and then nodded sadly.
“Take him out!!!!” The sudden roared startled them. The man that been order by his boss quickly dragged Jaejoong out from the room. The man slowly let his hand go while watching Jaejoong body out from the room.
“Is this what you really want….Han Hwan Min ah?” The person sighed while sit down on the chair that occupied by Jaejoong before.
“Oh shut up Xie Lie! You know I live for my revenge and I have no regret for that!!” He looks at his best friend for last time before walking out from the room. Xie Lie...but then he frowns. There’s something that is distracting him. He finally decides to trust his inner voice this time.
“If I’m right, I might save you…..and him.” He mumbles the words while picks the things that he saw on the floor and sighed. He prays to God, that his instinct is right this time!

“Oh…you’re here? Where’s my son?” The door to the door suddenly opened. Changmin jumped from his seat while looking at the new comer.
“Err I guess…He’s in his room uncle.” Changmin gulped. Mr. Jung nodded lightly and then sighed.
“What happened? Why did anyone tell me about this? Am I the last person to know about this?” He asked with frustrated voice. The fact he knew then news as the least person really disappointed him.
“Err…hm…” Changmin scratches his head while looking down on the floor. To be honest, he also doesn’t have an answer for Mr. Jung. What should he say anyway? Isn’t that supposed to be his hyung job to tell his own father about this news? But then his thought gets cut when the door opened again for the second time. This time Jun Won come in without notice the two pairs eyes is looking at him.
“Sir where did….uh…” He halted his steps when he saw his ‘big boss’ was standing there with Changmin. He quickly bowed politely to him.
“Ah you are here too Jun Won?” Mr. Jung asked with smile.
“Ah...yes Sir….” Jun Won nodded nervously. Mr. Jung nodded too and then he sighed.
“I’m really-really disappointed right now. Let me talk to my son first. You two…stay here.” After saying his words he walks out from the room leaving the two behind.
“Uh? Hm….” Jun Won looks at Changmin awkwardly. It’s really rare for two of them stay in one room. They look at each other and smile nervously.
“I thought you already back to your office.” Changmin try to start conversation as not to make the atmosphere become worst.
“No sir. I need the divorce documents that both of them already signed to verify and finalized their status to the court before releasing Jaejoong divorce settlement. Mr. Yunho said he has it with him.”
“Uh Jaejoong settlement? then…the documents that Yunho give Jaejoong…..It’s fake?” Changmin’s frowning, he remember clearly saw the brown envelope on Jaejoong hands before.
“Well no…that’s the half of the settlement.” Jun Won’s grinning.
“Oh~~~Jaejoong must be shock if he knows this!” Changmin whistle…He pretty sure the kid will come again to the mansion to ask Yunho to takes it back…Well what’s new? That’s typical Jaejoong that they know anyway.
“Jun Won ah~~What if….I mean….what if we don’t send the divorce document to the court is their marriage still you know…valid?” Changmin suddenly asks the question to Jun Won after a few minutes silent between them. He just really curious if there’s another ways that can save his hyung marriage life.
“They still valid divorce sir, since they already signed two years pre-marriage contract two years ago. The date ended so it’s means everything end too. Unless, Jaejoong agrees to renew and signed the permanent documents to move to legal marriage.” Jun Won explains it to him carefully. He aware of Changmin’s intention….but unfortunately that is the facts that Changmin needs to know and hear too.
“Ah~~So…there’s no hope then.” Changmin sighed disappointedly. Jun Won saw his sad face and quickly tries to find anything to change the mood.
“Did he tell you where he puts the documents sir?” Jun Won looks at the table and hold his back neck. He doesn’t know where to start to find the documents that his boss mentions before.
“Can you not ‘sir’ me here? I felt like older perso geez.” Changmin groaned at him irritated. Jun won just laughed at him.
“Hm..kay.. Changmin shi…about my question...”
“Drop the shi too please…aisyh….Oh right the documents…Might be on the left desk since he always put his important things there.” Being working with Yunho for almost five years, he already adapted with the man composure and habits. So it’s not needs much time to figure out as where Yunho will put his important things.
“Hm…Thank you.” Jun won quickly move to the desk left and truth to Changmin words, he saw the envelope with their legal emblem. He quickly takes it and sighed with relief.
“You found it?” Changmin asks after hear JunWon sighed. He saw Jun Won turned and smiles at him with nodded his head.
“Yeah…..You know Changmin ah, I want to save their marriage too….but guess we can’t do anything after all. If only Jaejoong sign the documents…it might be work.” JunWon absolutely frustrated when he heard from Yunho that he won’t use the documents that day. He doesn’t know what happened but he knows very well what it’s meant and what will happens later.
“What documents?” Changmin’s frowning when he hears Jun Won mentions about the documents.
“Er…nothing…Just wishful thinking….” JunWon shakes his head few times avoiding the topic again.
“Ah…I know..You talking about the other documents….Too bad Yunho abandon the ideas the day he found out about Jaejoong and his mother. You’re right; we definitely can’t do anything then just watching here. Eh…where are you going?” Changmin ask curiously when he saw JunWon walking to the door. As far as he remember, Mr. Jung as asked them to stay there until he come back after talking with Yunho…..Bur seeing the man walk away now make him confused.
“Back to the office; someone needs to be in control since both important leaders is absent. Just tell Mr. Jung I can’t stay long. There few cases that still needs to be review by tomorrow.” Jun Won turned and winks before walk out completely from the room.
“Oh~~right…hm. Did he just wink at me??” Changmin frowns and then grinning before sit on the sofa back….Just few seconds he just sit, the phone one the table ringing loudly. He sighed and quickly walking to table ready to pick the phone.
Meanwhile
“Yunho????” Mr. Jung walks inside the room and looking at his son that sits on the bed while holding his wine glass.
“Dad? When did you arrive?” Yunho looks at him with sad eyes before sipping his wine.
“Few minutes ago….I heard what happened so I rush back. Why didn’t you tell me about this Yun?” Mr. Jung come closer and sits beside his son. He takes the wineglass from Yunho hands and put it on the table lamp beside the bed.
“I know you already knew about this too dad since you investigated Jae before you know him.” Yunho’s groaning avoiding his farther eyes that looks at him with concerned.
“Well yeah…but I thought you’ll fight to protect this marriage.” Mr. Jung sighed. Seemed like what he thought was wrong and now he didn’t has backup plans to help his own son.
“I wanted too…but…he and I start with the wrong foot dad. I don’t want him to think that this relationship based on contract..That’s so wrong….I want something stronger with him dad. But…right now everything messed up…with his mother dying….his real feelings…I can’t tell…if he ever loved me or does he wants to stay with me? I felt really devastated!!” Finally Yunho breaks and lets go of feelings that he held inside. He’s sobbing like a child while hugging his knee to his chest.
“Yunho………….Let it out son…let it out. Don’t hold back. I’m here for you.” Mr. Jung bring his son body to his arm and hold it tightly…His eyes tearing too when saw his son tears. Suddenly they hear knock on the door. Changmin come in with worry face. His face tells them something’s wrong going on.
“I’m sorry for interrupting…but Yunho you must come with me now.”
