Sorry that I haven't been commenting/replying to things but THE FUCKING INTERNET IS DEAD. I'm updating this from an app on my phone. Typing on lj in phone safari is insanely irritating so I don't do it.

The internet has been down all weekend so hopefully whoever is meant to take care of this stuff will be back to work on Monday. It's extra ( Read more... )

*CLAP CLAP CLAP SHEFFIEEEELLLD*

THATS NOT AT ALL MY FIRST CHOICE UNI. <3

and its not next year that fees go up, its the year after *sweats*
to a lovely, unaffordable £7,000 average a year. So if you reapply this year, then its all good less expensive than applying in 2011.

It feels like the government just doesn't want educated people in the work force, unless they came from Eaton/ have more money than they know what to do with.

XD my mum doesn't really want me to go there tho :( my auntie owns a load of student flats and we don't want her to feel obliged to give me a discount so manchester/leeds are looking more likely at the moment. have you got any offers yet??

I think that they should keep the fees at the same level but abolish grants so EVERYONE has to pay back what they use. its not fair that some graduates have to pay back everything when some back back less than half...

well manchester and leeds aren't all that far away XD

no offers, my form was sent off on Friday, even though i sent it to the referee four weeks ago.. ¬¬ *uber UBER UBER mad at the school for that*

so have heard nothing as of yet. *and is now bricking it.*

and totally agree with the fee thing. It's just getting ridiculous now. Considering

ouch. thats really bad. my first one got delayed for a week by the head and i was pissed. a month is just insane.

lol, don't worry! its been the weekend. im sure you will be fine next week.

it pisses me off how people get massive grants then spend them on iphones and clothes. i live in the really cheap halls and almost all of us are just on loans. the kids with the grants are living it up in catered. i hate paying for their food and en suite bathrooms...argh.

grants should be spent on bills/books and tuition. NOT clothes, gadgets and alcohol. ¬¬

It's so annoying, as soon as I started making a fuss about why the hell it hadn't been sent off, the UCAS co-ordinator goes into major bitch mode.

Excuse me, it's my right to know where my form is. ¬¬

Considering last year, it was sent off within four days... and that was because I had Oxford down as a uni option. I knew I wouldn't get in, but my school jumps through hoops for Oxbridge, as demonstrated this year.
As soon as you take yourself off the list, they don't care.

I really hope so. The course at Sheffield is exactly what I want to do, Manchester and Leeds are similar, so if I get offers from them, I'll be really happy. :)

i know. its so fucking irritating. its not their bloody money. im sure that there are some which use it like they should but so many of them are just spending it on random nice shit.

i got my parents to do it last year XD it was gone within a day

ah, yep. the rest of us mortals didnt even start writing until all the oxbridge people had finished. i think its better that way because we still got the same amount of attention it was just a bit later.

sheffield does look pretty perfect...i like the options

at the moment Sheffield = LOVE.

4 of my friends have offers. For 3 of them, it's their first choice. for the other, its her 2nd. XD

We get told to do UCAS over the summer, with no pointers/help. Because that works. ¬¬
Ah well. Its just crossing fingers now.

XD I find the city itself a bit depressing though. have you visited yet?

at least you won't be alone then! tho i've actually quite liked being the only one from my school here. makes it easier to make new friends.

ugh, that sucks. ours helped us with every little step, it was really nice of them. the head of 6th form stayed until after 9pm going through them with us on her birthday (major guilt trip when we found out).
