Sorry that I haven't been commenting/replying to things but THE FUCKING INTERNET IS DEAD. I'm updating this from an app on my phone. Typing on lj in phone safari is insanely irritating so I don't do it.
The internet has been down all weekend so hopefully whoever is meant to take care of this stuff will be back to work on Monday. It's extra irritating because of my unis insistence on doing EVERYTHING online. All our work is put up and we have to download it, do it then email it to whoever. Sadly we can't do that now. Bah.
Also, my department have turned around and said that I can't do French. Bastards. It turns out that they have some bizarre no learning policy. They actually said that the department doesn't allow students to take more than 8 modules and that they pick 8 compulsory modules for us. What dicks. Surely uni is a place where you are meant to learn. It's just my department that has a problem with this. All the other ones are fine with turning out well rounded graduates, sadly the computer science one likes to keep us stupid so we forget how to communicate with the outside world and just go around speaking in powers of two. Fuckers.
Soo, I've decided to join the akc course properly. I probably won't pass but I noticed that my vocabulary is dwindling...and my grammar is also dying slowly and painfully. I'm also having issues with speech. Blargh. Stupid computer science. Turns people from relatively well rounded conscientious human beings into bizarre little mole people who are great with computers and shit at everything else.
I got really angry at my departments 'no more than 120 credits' thing. I honestly don't see why they have a problem with students wanting to learn MORE. The lessons go ahead anyways, I don't see why I can't go to them. When I get the time I'm going to write a really pissed off letter to the Dean. It will probably get me in trouble but idgaf ATM. Ne ways, about two seconds after they told me I couldn't learn French I rang Sheffield university to see about transfers. I'm going to ring them again tomorrow at lunch... Only problem is, I'm not sure if I could deal with the braincell killing drivel which is computer science without the massive distraction that is London.
I'm hoping that Cameron and co don't manage to get their extortionate fees in before next year because I need to apply for another uni place as a back up. Im worried tho because I don't want to do a jump from my frying pan into some horrible fire. Argh. Stupid bloody kings and their opposition to knowledge.
Tomorrow I might be going to some japan society meeting. I've made an amazing friend called trang over the internetless weekend. She's really into manga + anime and knows lots about kpop. We've been watching hetalia and doing jigsaw puzzles all weekend o(^▽^)o its so awesome having someone interested in the same stuff. Although the japan society says it's open to foreigners im a bit worried that everyone will be Japanese. If they are we are gonna leave and bum around Chinatown eating dumplings.
