Visiting Amy

Oct 08, 2010 19:13

My friend Amy is coming to London today so we're meeting up for supper. Going to discuss a Christmas trip with us and a few other friends. ATM Paris is the frontrunner for closeness and cheapness.

My tutorial finished at 3 today and at was meant to get here at 6:30 so I decided to kick around London for a few hours. I worked out a quicker way to Trafalgar square from my uni and walked to Chinatown from there. Also went to the bank, the closest of which was all the way down Piccadilly. I walked past green park station while I was there and remembers that on the tube they always say 'exit for buckingham palace' at that stop. I couldn't see it from the station so walked around a bit until I found it. It was through a park.

It was smaller than I thought if would be. It's probably because it is in a built up area but it didn't look bigger than harewood house which I then saw on a tourist ad for north Yorkshire. Made me a bit homesick.

I've been waiting in this trainstation for 40 mins now. Getting boring. I was chatting to this girl a bit because she had a dog o wanted to pet. We were getting along fine until she remembered she wasn't meant to tall to strangers.

Amy rang while I was typing that. Because she is from brunei she can stay in this place called Brunei hall, it's only £3.60 for 2 nights and food is only £2.10. It looks SO NICE.

I'm so jealous. It's way cheaper than my halls. I could stay here and eat for 3 days for the amount it costs me for one night. Waaahh. So not fair! I'm not allowed upstairs for some reason...bit weird. I think there is a girls half and a boys half. Seems pretty strict. Someone started speaking Malay to me so I wonder if I could et away with staying here.
