Rent, lotto, Toys R Us, Karmine's CD, and the rest of my awesome day
I woke up at like 12 and called Justin. He told me Dee wasn't coming, so I went and showered and got all ready to go. Justin started calling a bunch of people to see if anyone wanted to come with us. He called Jessamy and it turned out that she and Katie were already in the city doing Avenue Q lotto. Funny coincidence. haha.
We took the 4:00 train into the city and went straight to the Neder. We entered our names and I gave Robert a dollar (he shaved his head!) because I didn't have another single to buy a paper. Then we went to McDonalds and Justin ate. We went back at quarter of 6. Justin's name was the 5th called for lotto. I was so excited!! I made this really loud noise and everyone looked at me. It was funny.
So, they finished calling the names and we got the tickets and then went off to meet Jessamy and Katie. We met up and then went to Toys R Us to kill some time. I was so fascinated by the ferris wheel. We didn't ride it, but it looked like fun! We walked around for a while and then split up.
When we got back to the Neder it was like 20 after 7, and we went straight in to check the cast list. I was so upset because Matt was out. I really, really love Jay's Mark, but I was really looking forward to seeing Matt. It's been a long time since I last saw his Mark. So, I finally got over that and after a while we were allowed to go in and we sat down. Front row, center baby! lol.
The show was awesome. Kelly's Benny-glasses got stuck in her pocket during Over the Moon, so she just didn't put them on at all. It was funny. Cary, Jay, Karmine, Justin, Colin and Mayumi are the best things about the cast right now, IMO. Enrico's waiter is so cute! ^.^ I'm so glad Mayumi is back. So, so glad. Karmine and Cary are the best Mimi/Roger pair of all time. Yes, really. Jay needs to get full time Mark when Matt leaves. Frenchie's solo was awesome tonight. The best I've ever heard it, I think. Destan's ICY:R is so boring. I really do like him, but I don't know. I just can never get into his reprise at all. Merle is beautiful. Shaun Earl didn't annoy me at all tonight. That's a first. Colin is so scary as the man. I say that every time I see him, but it's so true. Karmine is amazing. I adore her so, so much. Cary's Glory is so beautiful. He did something new in What You Own too, and I loved it. I love every riff he does in every song. I'm in love with that voice, it's just so good.
Okay, I said mini review, so that's all about the show for now.
After the show I went and got pictures with Mayumi, Cary, Kelly, Karmine, Justin, and (shockingly) Frenchie.
Kelly is such a sweet heart. I told her that we were gonna come see her in But, I'm A Cheerleader and she got all happy and she asked us our names and was like "I'd love to see you there!" She's so sweet and friendly.
Karmine's CD is FINALLY out!! We were standing by her and Justin tapped her shoulder and was like, "When's the CD coming out?" and she just goes "It came out tonight." So I got this like thrilled expression on my face and we followed her over to her fiance who had a bunch of CDs and we each bought one. She signed mine "Thank you for your support - Love, Karmine Alers" and Justin's "'You're not alone'" because he said his favorite Rent song is What You Own. She was also really sweet, as always, and she talked to us for a bit. There were these cute like 11 year old girls talking to her and one of them asked if it was glitter or perspiration that came out of her hair in Out Tonight. lmao! So cute.
I tried to say something to Cary about being really excited about his gig, but it came out all mumbly because I said it way too fast, so he gave me this kind of confused look and he said something like "September 6th..right. Yeah. Great!" I felt like such an idiot. =X
I can't wait to get my pictures developed! It was an awesome show and an awesome night. Everyone go get Karmine's CD because it rocks!! Ok, that's all. <33
