Honestly waiting for someone to tell me I'm too white for all this StarCraft...

Various things I want to talk about have been piling up.

The last time I blogged about SC2 was Rain vs. choya, wasn't it? Gosh, that feels like such a long time ago, but I guess it was just a couple weeks ago. So let's go over some matches I've watched since then.

IMPpippi vs. LonerPrime.WE: Jesus Christ, Loner would've been awesome just in a normal match, but to think he kicked that much ass when he was so sick he was barely conscious pre-match. Tasteless and Artosis kept trailing off to remark on how terrible he looked and how concerned they were. I honestly think the speed at which he took Ppippi down was motivated by his intense desire to go back to bed. Little Bro favours Jinro, but Loner is so my favourite non-Korean player now.

ZeNEXGuardian vs. SlayerS_YuGiOh: Goddammit Guardian, how could you lose to someone named YuGiOh? That's just adding insult to injury, get a grip.

the oGsMC/oGsNaDa/oGsInCa/sanZenith block: lolol poor san got totally thrashed. "He should change his name to sadZenith" indeed. Basically I loved this block, though, 'cause I am biased toward Protoss, and I feel like it doesn't get played enough. Banelings are fun to watch an' all, but you can't beat a Collosus or three. ♥

BitByBitPrime.WE vs. FOXMoon: I'll state first that I do know Moon is a skilled SC player, but dude, how much has it gotta sting to get your ass handed to you by a Warcraft III player? TELL US, BITBYBIT, TELL US. I have no sympathy, lol BitByBit's all-ins are so damn predictable and that's all he ever does.

MarineKingPrime.WE vs. TSL_Clide: Despite my history as a MarineKing fanartist, I was totally rooting for Clide because he's a really talented player who just happens to end up not winning a lot. Except for this match. Go Clide! Made all the better by the awesome display of skill on either side of things.

LiquidJinro vs. EGIdrA: I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED THESE MATCHES SLKDHGS KICKING MYSELF AUGH. I've also managed to miss all of SlayerS_BoxeR's matches, what the hell.

And then I missed all of the week 3 matches because I don't even know why. I guess I was asleep at 4AM, WHAT ARE THE CHANCES. I was delighted to catch the Code S semi-finals, though.

IMNesTea vs. IMMvp and LiquidJinro vs. MarineKingPrime.WE: Although I knew it could kind of go any-which-way, I was leaning toward a NesTea/Jinro victory, so for the exact opposite to happen kinda made me double-take, but in a good way. These matches were so good all around, as a fan of all four players I felt quite satisfied. And hey, now the GSL's secured its first Terran king, whichever way it goes! Personally I'm rooting for MarineKing, but I'm good either way.

And then there's last night/this morning's up/down matches, which I just about had a heart attack over when my internet decided to kick out some twenty minutes before HongUn's match started. It didn't start working again until ten minutes into the match, by which point I was actually in tears.

FOXMoon vs. HongUnPrime.WE: There were kind of a lot of mistakes all over the place for both of them, so tbh even though Moon's a good player it would not have sat right with me if HongUn had lost. That said, I'm glad Moon did secure that one win, he deserved it, and I have a strong feeling his rank drop will be more than balanced out by his rapid improvement. But if I can get all estrogen-y for a sec, oh gosh HongUn's smile during the post-game interview, I got all fluttery for a moment.

oGsCezanne vs. oGsEnsnare: I swear I had things to say about this match while I was watching it, but then Ensnare had his post-game interview and I went all *dokidoki* goobery and all coherent thoughts fell out of my head. IDG why I find him so attractive since he's objectively fairly plain, but damn, man. He can Bunker rush my Nexus any day.

And then tonight/tomorrow morning's up/down matches include Maka's, FruitDealer's, and most importantly Rain's matches, which I really, really want to watch, so now I'm left wondering if it's possible for me to make a 4AM gametime and a 4PM class tomorrow when I'm on no sleep right now. I'd say it's do or die, but I think the option I'm unintentionally leaning toward there is 'die'. *keens* Seoyong, I will watch your match somehow! Why do your matches always interfere with important academic stuff...

Now let's talk anime, 'cause why not:

Yumeiro Patissiere: I finally finished it! Well, the first season, anyway. Man, DAT ENDING. As if seeking to prove my theory that YumePati is a shounen series in shoujo-sheep's clothing, I swear to god it used dramatic shounen manga speed lines in the background for judges eating strawberry tarts. Awesome, man, friggin' awesome.

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt: I watched it all in one sitting, only god knows why. I don't know... I liked some things about it, and I disliked some things about it, and sometimes those things were actually the same thing. For example I liked that it was so straightforward about being sex-positive, or at least sex-neutral (Panty takes it to the point of vice and then some so ambivalent treatment is more than fair), but on the other hand I generally prefer media that doesn't bother with the issue at all. I guess the main issue is that Gainax keeps trying to out-Gainax itself, and reinvention has its ups and downs. Or something.

Hyakko: I can't remember why I ever wanted to watch it in the first place, but it's been sitting on my MyAnimeList 'to watch' list for I don't even know how long, and I figured it's about time to do something about that. I'm kind of ambivalent thus far; I'm three episodes in and while I've yet to be wowed in any way, it's not lackluster enough to have me grudging my commitment to completion. May as well rule it a case of 'no news is good news'... except with opinion? Not sure what I'm getting at here.

i need to learn when to shut up, starcraft, anime
