If I'm going to get crap for my reading preferences, isn't ChocoMimi the obvious target anyway?

Bleh, I am so sick of getting no respect just because I read Naruto for a while and intend to get around to picking it up again. Do you have any idea how much truly shitty shoujo manga I've read?! If anything, that's a reason to disrespect me! I don't see why reading a manga about a bright orange ninja automatically makes a person a subhuman waste

Like I said, not directed at anyone in particular, just a reaction to the general sentiment. And like I said, it's Naruto that has that rep, but what about dead people that never die Bleach? Two words: FILLER RUKIA. (For the record, both are courtesy of Studio Pierrot, who do that to even 13 episode series. I'm still pissed off about Midori no Hibi. *bites things*) I'm not trying to be argumentative or anything, just. IDK. The general "only idiots like Naruto" sentiment makes me want to punch things. I just like plucky shounen heroes, it's not a crime. T_T

I know it wasn't AT anyone, but I know it's a common thing to hate on Naruto. It's just the crap series with the most vocal and idiotic fanbase in general. Bleach had the Bount arc, and the no-actual-time-in-canon New Captain arc, and now the Soul Reapers Coming Alive arc, but after the disaster that was the Bount filler arc, they've come to intersperse the filler arcs in ways that clearly do not count them in the canon in particular. (The episode before the New Captain arc, for example, everyone was in or about to start battle with the Arrancar, and then the episode after the arc, they just had a recap of, ok, this is where our heroes were last time we were here...)

OK, and maybe I'm biased because I got into Bleach before it was an overwhelming lot to watch, (I started at episode 50 or so) and now Naruto's up to 220 original anime episodes, plus 150+ Shippuden episodes, and the manga's at 50 volumes and counting. And the majority of its public fanbase are complete 'tards.

Hmmmmm I think pretty much any longrunning series, especially ones in Shounen Jump, have their fair share of... over-enthusiastic simple-minded fans, let's put it that way. But I feel like Naruto gets the short end of the stick, even though I don't really see it as having that many more 'tard-y fans than other big series. I dunno, maybe I'm totally blind, I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time I'm totally blind to a fandom's true nature, I'm sure. :)

Oh lord, I remember when Shippuden started and I was like, "I guess I should get around to catching up on the anime some time..." 150+ episodes? I feel so old. XD;;
