“He killed his mom.”
Everyone just reacted by looking at Kai, but Kai was not saying anything, or even acknowledging the stares one little bit, therefore, Ruki continued.
“I called him many times after, but he still didn’t pick up, so I went to look for him. At first, there was nothing different at their house, but when I looked closely, I saw traces of blood and I could hear a faint sob. I went and I saw Aoi on the floor, hugging Kai while he was crying…and I could see the body of their mother.”

“A-aoi!” Ruki gasped. “W-what did you do?” he didn’t dare look at the corpse. He waited, but no reply, so he asked again.
“I killed her. Simple enough?” Aoi didn’t look up; he continued to coo Kai gently.
Ruki was speechless, how can Aoi do this? Killing a life, no matter what has happened, this is not right and he doesn’t even seem guilty.
“How could you do this???” Ruki yelled at Aoi, when he finally couldn’t take it.
Silence.
“Aoi!”
“Shut up Ruki! You’re scaring Kai.”
Ruki felt as if he had just been slapped. “You killed someone. Your mother! You can’t do this, this isn’t right. Let go of Kai!” Ruki reached for Kai but Aoi was quicker and covered the small and fragile Kai.
“You don’t get the right to touch him.” Aoi said angrily. “He’s mine.” He gripped on tighter causing Kai to moan in pain. “Kai, are you alright? I’m sorry” Finally, Aoi let Kai’s face surface from his chest. Kai had bruises all along his face and stains from his own and his mother’s blood.
Ruki rushed to the little one. “Are you ok? What happen to him? What did you do??” Ruki said roughly.
“I didn’t do this.” Aoi murmured back, the Aoi Ruki knew was back, he had the same sincere look in his eyes. “I would never hurt him.”
Ruki was really going to believe him…until the dead body caught his eyes. “Then why did you kill her?” He tried to maintain his calmness.
“…… She…she deserved it” he whispered it out as if it was to himself.
“Aoi, no one deserves to die.” Ruki also said it in the quiet whisper. “I’m…I’m going to call the cops.” He tried to use his shaking hands to reach for his cell phone, but it just didn’t seem possible. Aoi…His Aoi wouldn’t do this, he just wouldn’t. Ruki felt a wave of emotion and started to feel nausea, he then saw black.

Ruki awoke lying on the bed that smelt just like Aoi, it took him a while to think back what happened. Aoi is a murderer. The tears instantly started to flow from his eyes, he buried his face in the scented pillow.
“Are…are you feeling better now?” It was Aoi’s fucking sexy voice.
Ruki didn’t reply…he didn’t dare to reply. He flinched when he felt the heat of Aoi’s hand on his face, but he didn’t move away. He loved Aoi, no matter what he did, he still did. Aoi gently turned him around. “Ru…”
“Don’t touch me.”
“Just think that nothing happened, ok?” Aoi asked.
Ruki felt his temper coming at him. He turned and sat up facing Aoi “Think that this NEVER happened!?!? Are you insane??? You fucking killed your fucking mother!”
“She deserved it” Aoi snapped back. “You just don’t know what she does behind that innocent look of hers!”
“She would never do anything! She won’t even hurt a fly.” Ruki yelled back. Their mom was very nice to him, she worked hard and she would always treat him chocolate cookies whenever he came over. “What? She works hard for you guys and treats you guys nicely and you don’t appreciate it and then you kill her?”
“She doesn’t work for anyone but herself, and you don’t know what she does when you turn your back. You don’t fucking know shit Ruki!”
“Oh and I’m the one who doesn’t know shit. You have someone who cares for you while my parents are somewhere in the world doing some shit and leaving their son like this since he was 4 to the nannies to take care…and you think I don’t know when someone treats someone well?”
“You got your fucking life made for you, and you complain!?!? And she doesn’t fucking treat anyone well if you actually know, but you don’t! You never saw what she does when she is alone with Kai, because you never fucking did!”
“Well maybe I would have if you didn’t kill her!”
“So you’re telling me that it’s my fault that I killed her and that it’s my fault that you don’t get to see what she does to Kai???”
“Of course it’s your fault.”
Aoi slapped him. “You don’t know anything Ruki, if you ever saw what she does to Kai, you would do the same.” Aoi stared at Ruki, wait for a reaction but just sat there.
Ruki felt hot tears welding at the corner of his eyes. “It’s not like you are going to tell me what happened.” Ruki looked down. Was Aoi always that far away from me? He thought. Why doesn’t he ever tell me anything? “How am I supposed to know anything if you don’t tell me?? You always go hide everything inside and you never let me in!” The tears were falling now, Ruki placed his hands on his face.
“I-I’m so sorry Ruki.” Aoi knelt down and touched his hands gently. “I’m so sorry.” He whispered.
“Don’t touch me!” Ruki said for the second time today. “I really am going to call the police.” Ruki panted, panting between sobs
“NO!!!” Kai came running toward them, he flung himself at Aoi. “Do-don’t take aniki away from me!” There were tears running down his bruise face. “I hate you!! I hate you!!”
“Kai…” Ruki deflated, he always treated Kai as if he was his own brother, what did he do to deserve this?
“Kai…get away from him, he isn’t the aniki you knew from a long time ago.” He said, trying to sound reasonable.
“NO!! You’re the bad guy! The bad guy!!!” Kai yelled at him.

“At that time, I had a bad temper, you could blame it on that I always get what I want, or I just had a low level of EQ, but, I guess it still wasn’t, isn’t a good idea. But…I slapped Kai.” Ruki bit his lips. “I regret it right after I did it, but Aoi was very mad after what I did, which I don’t blame him. He punched me right on the face, knocking two back teeth out.” Ruki sighed.
“And so, we got into another round of fighting and screaming. We couldn’t take it anymore, nothing was getting solved, but it was unclear to us back then, so I called the police. I was so mad that I felt happy when Aoi got taken away, but after a few days, I felt as miserable as hell.”
“I took care of Kai, Kai was acting differently to me but soon he stopped whining and stopped crying for his brother, but that didn’t happen to me. Just the days with Kai, they don’t look alike, but god, some of their expressions on their faces, their reactions, it was so similar. In a few days, after the hearing, I had to go see Aoi.”

“Aoi…” Ruki was holding the phone to talk to Aoi who was on the other side of the glass.
Aoi didn’t pick up the phone on the other side, his face kept a stone-face. Ruki fought back the tears. Ruki was the one who told the police and was the person to point at Aoi for his crime, he even got his brother to say that he did kill his mom.
But they tried their best to plead for forgiveness and tried to make Aoi’s punishment lighter. In the end, he got sentenced 8 years in jail.
“Aoi” he said again. “Please.” The tears were running down his face. He knew Aoi can’t hear him but he also knew Aoi knew what he was saying. They used to play a mouthing game, they would say something without making a sound and the other would have to guess what the other said. They would play that for hours, making them into masters in this sport.
They stayed like that for a while, until Aoi made a move and picked up the phone. Ruki broke into a little grin.
“Thank you, thank you,” he murmured. “How are you?”
Aoi didn’t seem to answer, but he mouthed “Okay.” That was good enough for Ruki.
For the next few months, Ruki would come as much times as he could. He would also bring Kai along.
They both made a promise to each other, that Ruki would wait for Aoi to come out and try and get married. Ruki was going to bring a treaty of some sort to mark their relationship, but it was too late.
Aoi was moved to a different jail all of a sudden. They had a ‘jail overload’ and had to quickly move the jail mates to a different jail. They lost all contact after that.

Ruki had tears falling down his face. Uruha had them too. Reita didn’t really know what to do, but he broke the silence.
“Why…why did Aoi-san kill their mom…?” He asked quietly.
Ruki looked at him. “Ask him yourself.” He turned to take a look at Kai. “Or ask Kai, this isn’t my story to tell.”

It has been around a week since Kai has been in the hospital, many people came in and out to visit Kai, even Orihime, but for a different reason.
She arrived at night, just in time to stop the doctor from entering Kai’s room, with his body report.
“Hey mister,” she said seductively. “Can I have a look at that?”
The bald headed man shook his head. “Sorry, but this has to be read to the patient alone, unless he wants to tell it to other people, we as doctors don’t get the right to show it to other people.
Orihime took a step closer to her soon-to-be prey. She took a hand out and drew light circles on the man’s chest. “Oh please mister.” She said pushing her chest closer, to allow this man to get a better view of her cleavage. “Please, doctor, I need it very much.”
“Ugh…sorry miss, no can do.” He said, his eyes took a peak at the breast every few seconds.
“But it is very important to his mother!” she lied, “she wants to know but can’t make it today and she doesn’t want to wait for tomorrow.” She pressed her breast at the guy’s chest. She could hear his breath hic slightly. “How about I give you a little prize after it.” She licked her lips.
The doctor was making his mind, but it was clear what he wanted. “Ok, fine. Here is the report, hurry up and-“ Orihime planted her lips on his before he could finish his command. Her hands snaked around the man’s waist.
The results were hers, and no one needs to know about it, because that doctor will be listening to her as well.
