I don't care what people say

Alkaline Trio is still one of my favorite bands. Everytime I hear them they take me back to probably the most awesome time of my life. My first year of college, with Matt and Kristi. Kristi continuously played Alk3, it was like our driving music ritual. We had no cares in the world, no responsibilities, just fun and freedom. It was truly an amazing time. I was "fresh off the farm" from Lake County and EVERYTHING about Tampa impressed me. Everything was new and thrilling. Oh to be young and naive again!

Rob got me tickets back in March as a 2 year anniversary present, and the show last night was so much fun. Against Me! asked a girl to marry her boyfriend in front of everyone at the House of Blues, then Alkaline Trio played for what must have been at least an hour and a half, covering about 4 to 5 songs from EACH of their albums. I swear they are so good about playing their old stuff for their long time fans, they only played 3 or 4 songs off the new album. They even played their songs that weren't on their regular CD's, like Queen of Pain from the split with Hot Water Music and Good Fuckin Night from their work with 7 Seconds. It was a good night!......Yes, I'm gushing like a school girl, but I don't care.

I'm so glad I took today off, I would have been very tired and very grumpy had I gone to work.
