Mayor's Dance
Today was the Mayor's Dance sponsored by the Recreation Department. It was at the Look Memorial Park, in the Garden House, from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. I first met up with Kaileen, Savy, and Kathleen at Alex's house, and we did our makeup and took some pictures. My mom helped me curl my hair, annd I put on some dark brown eyeshadow, and eyeliner and mascara. I had a black spagetti strap dress. A lot of girls wore black dresses.
At the dance were a lot of the eigth graders, but not all. I was a bit disapointed that these very few "people" weren't there, but I did see someone else, and was happy. He looked soo nice, I could go up to him and give him a hug.
There were appetizers kind of, like mozzerella sticks, meatballs. mini pizza bites, chips and dips, brownies, and small cookies. I only had mozzerella sticks, and half a brownie, realizing it was way too sweet. Also, I bought a soda for $1.50.
I was actually happy tonight. I actually danced, with like Izzy, Emma, Anna, Julianna, Kaylee, Alex, Hayley, Tiffany, Stephanie, Amber, Alissa, Coti a bit, Mary, and other people. I got stepped on four times- once by Hannah Chandler, who was in heels. It's all red, and bleeding inside. So I'm a bit sad. And there was this song were people started jumping up and down, and go crazy, and the guys started to push people, and many others got stepped on, or trampled.
Oh, and me, Anna, Emma, Izzy, and Elizabeth would see how far back we would lean, and me and Anna did pretty well. So like, a few moments later, I was in front of like Charlie, Jake, Zach, and a bunch of other people, and me and Anna were trying to bend as far back as we possibly could, so I went way back, and I made the mistake of throwing my hands back which made me tilt, so oI fell, and I made the other mistake of running away.
They had votes for best dressed female- Hannah Chandler, best dressed male- Jared Kenndy-Loving, best couple- Max and Spencer ha hah, most fun girl- Alissa, most fun guy- Ray, and best dancer- Aleena. Only I heard that Aleena cheated. That she wrote her name many times of slips of papers. That's why she won. But she didn't really. Mrs. Kennedy and her husband should have won the best couple one. They were good dancers. lol. They had the whole dance floor cheering for them. It was cool. And there were raffels for 10, and the prizes were a gift certificate to Faces or something, and Ashlee Simpson and Fall Out Boy CDs.
The songs they played were like Ridin', Hips Don't Lie, Cotton-Eyed Joe, Bad Day, Shake it Off, SOS, Pon De Replay, Dirty Little Secret, My Humps, Switch, and others that I can't really remember. Oh my god. They played Bad Day twice, and it was also the last song to close the night. It was a bad song choice I think. It just made the night seem very sad, and it's llike 'goodbye.' I wished the DJ would have chose a much better, and faster song for the last one. I felt like crying. I don't know why.
So after, Alex's mom picked up Alex, Savy, and me, and drove us to Friendly's as her treat. We got ice cream. And Alex likes her ice cream reall hard; Savy likes her ice cream soft and short; and dI like mine real long =] Then her mom dropped me off, and I washed my hair and my face. So here I am, typing this, and my feet hurt real bad. And my eyes burned. So I think I'm going to go to sleep now. School in the morning.
