'GANTZ' has finally been released!
A few weeks ago, I had written a post regarding any release of ‘GANTZ’ with English subtitles. This week, I received the greatest news that it had already been subtitled by a fellow Arashi community from a friend. I was really happy and excited for my baby sister and I have been waiting for this film forever. If it had not been for a community, fans like us would never have a chance to enjoy Asian entertainment. These are the things that make me appreciate their effort and dedication. I also feel saddened by all those people who steal their material and profit from them mercilessly. What is the point in affecting others? How could someone win anything from such an action? I will never understand it.
Before watching ‘GANTZ’, my expectations were really high. I had read many comments and posts of several people who had been to watch the movie series. I was a bit scared at first because I did not want to be disappointed. It turned out that the film was ten times better than what I could have ever predicted. I could make a whole analysis of it, but I do not want to spoil anything for those fans that have not been able to watch it yet. So I will keep my appreciation and interpretation of the film for myself unless you want to talk about it in private. I do not mind. Even though I was able to watch the film, I want to buy the Blu-Ray version. My baby sister asked me if this version will have an additional DVD, but I doubt it. I would not like to purchase two formats of the same film, so I will have to find a way to burn a DVD copy for her from the Blu-Ray. Is that even possible? I guess that I will have to find out. It is true that the pre-order price is very reasonable, but I do not feel like purchasing two films if we live in the same house. I will give a bit more thought to this. I have time before August 30th finally arrives. Hehehe… I am just really happy to know that ‘GANTZ’ will be available for different audiences throughout the globe. This sort of thing rarely happens, so we should appreciate it. I know I do. I am getting my Blu-Ray copy in September 2011. And I will be patiently waiting for the ‘GANTZ: Perfect Answer’ release on Blu-Ray.
