this fears got a hold on me.
i started my 1st grade placement this week & i'm trying to get back into the swing of things. no human being should ever be required to be up at six a.m. i highly consider that a form of torture. first graders definitely don't hold back their thoughts on any situation. we were discussing sound as part of our science lesson for the day & my teacher was explaining to the students about their homework. they were told to write down all of the sounds they heard in their home. she was giving a few examples to give the students some ideas of what to listen for (i.e. brother/sister crying, music, mom/dad talking, t.v., etc). one little boy (whose name happens to be Ridings. i don't know how his mom/dad came up with that one...) blurted out "oh so i could record my little brother singing shania twain songs on the toilet!!" needless to say, he got in trouble for talking out of turn as well as discussing inappropriate subjects in school. i, on the other hand, thought it was hilarious & had to hold back my laughter.
