ELIZABETH (YOUNG): Did they live happily ever after?
MEGA BITCH: Yes, Elizabeth, they ALWAYS live happily ever after!
ELIZABETH (YOUNG): What a pile of shit.
I think our young protagonist was on to something here when she disagreed with happy endings. I for one have came to the realization everything ends so happily. But why? Why does the couple run off into the sunset? Why does everyone live? Why is everyone so happy? WHy can't the couple break up and have a heated fight leading to a domestic violence case? Why doesn't someone die? Why doesn't some be UNhappy? I have watched three movies in the past few days, all turning out to be happy endings. My story doesn't end in a happy ending, and I"m normal, so why should movies take the opposite of reality and exaggerate? I'm not sure why I am ranting about this, but thena again I think I do. I MUST watch a movie that doesn't end happy and I MUST read a book that doesn't end happily ever after!
