So, here is that long expected(but probably not really) post-Christmas update.
Wow...I'm not quite sure how to go about writing all this...
WARNING!!! POTENTIALLY REALLY LONG RAMBLING/BABBLING POST(for me)!!!!
READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
Let's see...The whole family woke up bright and early Saturday morning and my mom and I finished up preparing the foodstuffs whilst my dad ran to various stores to retrieve any forgotten items. We finished with the food around 1 something and then my mom went upstairs to sleep and I sat around in my room for an hour or so and my dad refused to rest up. Then Hurricane Swiffer hit and much cleaning ensued. One kitchen, one dining room, one living room, one family room, two bedrooms, and three bathrooms later, we were about done with the cleaning and it was almost 5 o'clock.

Otay. So after the whole cleaning orgy, we were all like "Ohmigosh, we's got's to get dressed!" But not really. That might have just been me. Anyway...there was much dressing and me deciding that my outfit was crap and rummaging for clothings and shoe losing and last minute bedroom pickup. And doorbell ringing in the midst of hair doing at 6 sharp. And then the party started.
And now my knowledge of my family shall be tested. Get ready to count the people because I can't add. The first arrivals were my Uncle Danny, Aunt Julie, my cousin Danielle, and her husband Karlos. And 6 dozen tamales. And then there was my Aunt Patty, Uncle Paulie, and cousins Lauren and Andrea. And shortly thereafter, Aunt Becky, Uncle Carlos, cousin Nick, his daughter Emma, his girlfriend Sarah, my Grandpa Gomez, and a literal carfull of food. And that was all of the people for about an hour or so. Then the masses swarmed in. I shan't get the order right at all so I'll just rattle off all of the people for the sake of counting ease. Grandma and Grandpa Groh, cousins Rose, Lora, Lorelai, Alana, Ethan, Travis, Carly, Louie, Leah, Marco, Donilo, Michael, and Anthony, Uncle George and girlfriend Patti, Aunt Debbie, random friend of family Mark and girlfriend Diane, Anthony's girlfriend Stephanie, and about ten other people that I forgot. v_v Oops.
There was a ton of eating because there was more than a ton of food like two kinds of beans, potato salad, cactus salad, asparagus salad, spanish rice, two kinds of tamales, ham sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, smoked salmon, shrimp, waterchestnuts wrapped in bacon, tequila lime wings, two kinds of meatballs, other stuff like that, and various sorts of desserts. Then there was so much pool playing that a schedule/list thing needed to be made. And then at 10:30-ish there was all the gift exchanging/opening/ABSOLUTE CHAOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ended up with a set of my dead grandmother's salt shakers, a talking picture frame, a pretty purse, and two books. So when all of that was said and done, I hung around until it was officially Christmas Day(aka midnight) and then I decided to turn in for the night. So I walked to my room, threw my sleeping bag on the floor, grabbed a blanket and some pillows, and attempted sleep. Why on the floor? Because everybody's coats were on my futon. Every once in a while during said attempt at sleep, people would walk in to get their coats and very not much notice me. A few people actually turned on the ceiling light talked loudly to their companion and walked out without noticing me on my BRIGHT RED sleeping bag. And then there were the few that walked in, grabbed their coat, started to walk out, saw me, ceased the loud talking, and instead were like "awwww...look. oh! she's on the floor..." And I think one aunt was actually like "Go in there and look. She's sleeping on the floor." And not one person thought to move the coats to the guest bedroom and let me sleep on a bed. Nope. I guess towards the end of the night, one of my 15 year old cousins ended up throwing up in the carport while she was smoking her cigarettes because she guzzled down the 3+ drinks that her dad gave to her in a pretty short amount of time.
I got woken up around two-ish by my dad right after the rest of the people left to see if I wanted to sleep on my bed. And then I slept right through to 10 yesterday. At which point I skulked around the house and then skulked back to my room so that I would remain unheard. And I finished the gift-wrapping just in time to be "woken up". And then there was the family present opening. And I got a lamp with a lava lamp in it, moneys, and a bag full of stuffs, and was informed that two presents had gotten lost in the shuffle. And then there was death for breakfast. Which is death in the form of Italian sweetbread and whipped cream and eggnog, if you didn't know. After said death, I dawdled around and sat on my futon for about and hour or so until around 1:30 when my mom popped her head in my room and said, "You're sleeping?!!!?!?!? We have to leave!!!!!" To which I replied, "I know. *flops head back on pillow*" And finally got dressed and hopped into the car to got to previously mentioned Grandma and Grandpa Groh's house for another mini-Christmas shindig to exchange gifts with them and also previously mentioned Uncle Paulie, Aunt Patty, and cousins Lauren and Andrea. So there was more food/almost exploding and more gifts. I got a stocking full of stuff, more moneys, and a shirt. And was informed that a $38,000 piano is going to get willed to me. And then I went home, sat on the computer for way to long, and then sat on the phone til almost 3:30 and passed out.
Dad woke me up at ten-ish, we caught the 12:10 showing of Harry Potter 4 at Mayfair, and then we went our separate ways and roamed around the mall until 4:30. AND NOW I HAVE PANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I shall finish off today later tonight or tomorrow or something. ^_^
