why i hate my job: by amber stinson
so i've decided that if i quit walgreens, it will be because of one of the assistant managers. okay, my car isn't running, and neither is my parents'. so my grandpa takes me to work, usually. well today, i called him and he wasn't home. meaning i got to walk to work. which takes about 10-15 minutes depending, and i have 11 minutes til i clock in. so i called him, out of courtesy, telling him i might be a minute or two late. so what's he do? jumps down my throat about how "it's my responsibility to leave 15 minutes earlier so i can get there on time if it takes 15 minutes to walk there," and then he hangs up on me. mind you, he's like this most of the time. so i get to work and punch in ONE MINUTE late. ONE. and i go out front to take over the cash register and he comes out with a paper and says, "see this? were you asked to come in late friday, or were you just late?" i was like.. i wasn't late. so he drags me - not litereally - to the office and i said I WASN'T LATE. turns out he read the military time wrong and i was actually two minutes EARLY. and then since i wasn't late, he was like, "so weren't you late recently?" i said, not as far as i know. and he said that "this incessant tardiness has to stop. it's your job to be here on time. when you're scheduled for 4, be here, punch in, and get to that register by four." okay... so i've worked there a YEAR, and been about 2 minutes early alomst EVERY day, and i stay a half an hour to an hour late almost every night. so i don't see his problem.
anyway, so i work with the other two managers for the next two nights. thank God.
which reminds me... i think i might be starting to believe more in God. i've actually gone to church the past couple weeks... and it makes me wonder sometimes. i don't agree with some of the aspects of the Christian religion... like no matter what, i will not be against homosexuality. it's people's choice, and i don't see the difference between man and woman or man and man or woman and woman, as long as their in love. i mean... whatever. it's their choice.
