So, this will probably be a pretty long post since I haven't done so in a while. I'll start with an update from home. Paradise High School, in what I consider the best fucking football game I have ever seen -- on any level -- has won the North Section Division 1 title for the second time in 3 years, defeating West Valley and bringing the total conflict to a 2-1 P-Town advantage. We have played them the last 3 years in the finals. We mauled them the first time, they us the second; the third was very evenly matched. They had the size, but we had the speed and the home field and it made all the difference. It was looking grim at the end of the first half. We were down 7-3 and West Valley was threatening a final pass play from their 30 to go up 10. They threw to their star running back who went in motion from the backfield. Our star player, Jeffery Mahel (who incidently is being pursued heavily by UCLA) just LIT HIM THE FUCK UP. It was seriously the raunchiest hit I have ever seen. The news replayed it 7 TIMES -- half in slow-mo -- later that night. It was a huge uplift to the team and they came into the second half on the charge. Unfortunately, two drives stalled at the 15 and 20, respectively, but Cameron was a lock all night and we soon went up 9-7 after two field goals. West valley struck back with a 30 yard endzone pass to go up 14-9; it would be the last time they saw paydirt. Mahel struck again -- this time from a pitch/flea-flicker pass from running back David Cruz to put us up 15-14, and then cruz successfully ran in the 2-point conversion to put us at 17. West Valley then went three-and-out to end the 3rd quarter, but kicked a beauty of a punt down to the Paradise 3. Paradise, on fullback John Knox's legs and back, marched down the field to put another 6 on the board -- Cameron missed his first kick of the night for the point after. The score was 23-14, a two-posession game, with only 2 minutes left in the game. Prinz called for the squib on the kickoff, but on its second bounce, it launched straight into the air about 15 feet on the 40 yard line. Paradise special teams came crashing through, bulldozing the poor guy that got under the ball and recovered it. Game over. It was absolutely gorgeous. So for thanksgiving, we all went out paintballing which was a load of fun. I dominated a few rounds with strong moves and got clipped early for the same. The sting brought back memories. It was a great day and I am very thankful for my new family up here. Everything is set for my trip to FL with a detour in OK. In case anyone hasn't been informed, I'll be in OK from the 17th-19th, and in FL from the 19th-31st. I'm staying with my brother in Norman and my sister in Ft. Lauderdale. I can get you precise schedules if you so desire. I hope everyone had a great turkey-day and I look forward to seeing you all.
