Playing with flour and sugar is fun.
I love Saturdays now. I remember when I hated them. I think it's because I always associated Saturdays with CVS, seeing as I worked every Saturday night for 2 years. I'm just glad those days are over.
One week until I leave for Buffalo, yay!
The best part is that when I return from Buffalo, my foot will be colorfully inked AND I'll have a new hole in my body. [And I won't even be angry for this piercing... that's a first!]
I had a decent run today... 6.5 miles I think? I don't know, I kind of lost track. That's what music does. It helps you zone out... which is nice. Then Kat and I met up for lunch today at Applebees to catch up on life. It was really nice. I hadn't seen her in forever. We agreed that we should probably start meeting up to chill more often. I don't like going MONTHS without seeing her, especially when she lives only minutes away.
Cat, we need to plan our baking/gift exchange. I'm in Buffalo December 23 - January 1, but I'll be available for any weekend on your Christmas break after that. So PLEASE let me know. I'm craving gingerbread [vegan style??] like WHOA.
Speaking of baking, I spent part of the afternoon trying to pick out a good cookie recipe to bake for my grandparents and Dan's family. Mind you, neither my Memere nor Dan's mom can eat chocolate ::gasp!!:: so it was a bit tough finding something super tasty WITHOUT delicious chocolate involved. I've been baking Raspberry Jelly Lindor Cookies for my grandparents for the last 3 years, which they love, but the dough is very sensitive and burns easily. Plus, they are a pain-in-the-ass to roll out and cookie-cut. So I settled on Cinnamon Refrigerator Cookies which require minimal ingredients, simple prep, and sound yummy. Plus, one batch makes 50 cookies, so all parties are covered without having to double a recipe. I wish I could bake now... I'm just in the mood, I guess.... but I really should wait until Friday so the cookies are fresh when I go to Buffalo. But damn, I really want to make something sweet.
Okay, I need to go back to my laundry.... not fun!
