To work or To lay in bed and dream of island life--that is the question

I'm currently reading "The Sex Lives of Cannibals: Adrift in the Equatorial Pacific" by J. Maarten Troost. Sounds promising, doesn't it? Although it is funny, it seems to generally lack Sex and Cannibals... the two things I was looking forward to. It is basically about this guy who--pretty much on a whim--decided to move to the tiny and extremely remote Gilbert Islands. You've never heard of them, have you? That's how remote they are. It is an interesting book from an anthropological standpoint, because this culture is largely isolated from the world... but the Macarena and disposable diapers have made it to the island--somehow.

The book also give me good dreams. Today I layed sprawled across the bed dreaming about living on a tropical island for hours. I would wake, look at the clock, then close my eyes and return to my hammock under the palm trees.

I'm supposed to work at 3pm today. I don't have a ride. Eric's mother offered me a ride--at 7AM.

1. At 7AM I am not even close to being ready to wake up. To be up and dressed for work at 7AM would be a miracle.

2. I work at 3PM. If I did go into work at 7, I would then have 8 hours of sitting up in uncomfortable folding chairs before my 6 or 7 hour workshift...

So I decided to just lay in bed and dream about equatorial sunshine instead.
