i went to the doctors today to get my B12 shot and to find out the results to some tests i had. turns out i have a disease. yup...just great...*sigh*....its called Polycystic Ovarian Disease. i dont know much about it yet. i have lots of reading to do. im super upset about it. he mentioned something about how it COULD make getting pregnant hard.

i hope you don't mind my commenting...but, my sister has this condition. so i know a bit about it. while it's been frustrating for her at times, she's had several healthy pregnancies despite her illness.

but, it's scary nonetheless...

i just called my sister and asked her about her meds and stuff. mainly she just takes birth control pills to regulate her menstrual cycle. In her case, the doctors are more concerned with preventing more problems like diabetes and high cholesterol...that's where diet and exercise come in. however, she does have excessive hair growth as a result of her condition, and she takes a medication for that as well

do you think you could ask her what the name of the birth control she uses is? and also what the name of the mdication she uses for the excessive hair growth? id really appreciate this info. how old is she? :)

Andrea, I am sorry to hear that, please call me if you ever need to talk anytime.

My mom had that. I think it had something to do with her problems with her thyroid gland. I believe it's also connected to how your body is able to regulate insulin, and there is a risk of diabetes because of that. Here's a link also about the ability to have children...

yeah i thought something was wrong, ive never had pimples before in my life really, and just within the last 2 years ive noticed a lot. also not being able to lose weight EVER in my life. its been a huge struggle and something i could never understand. and then light hair growing on my face that i just use hair remover for. so these were all weird to me of course and i decided to get it check out. and BAM..i got a disease. haha. boourns.

Aw Andrea. *hugs* I hope you're feeling better today after having read up about it & that advice up there ^^^ is really good. It sounds scary, but manageable, and that's always a good thing. My last pap came back with abnormal cells, so I have to go for more testing in January to make sure there isn't anything wrong. Sigh.

Anyway, I hadn't even heard of that disease so there isn't any help I can offer but I wanted to say something because I know you must be feeling pretty shitty so *hugshugshugs* & - Lets make a movie date! Even if Dale & Randy don't cooperate. :)

thanks hun. we totally should make a movie date. screw those guys. i'll talk to dale today and see when he isnt busy with school. and then we can try make a "Date" with the 4 of us, if that doesnt work out, its totally you and me babe.
