they say the brains I had went to my head

The Brit Awards are gravely amusing. It is absolute madness and it’s brilliant.

I’m having a love affair with the host, Russell Brand. His hair is just fabulous and he’s dressed in rather Willy Wonka-esque attire. I’ve just learnt that he’s a comedian and am intrigued. Where can I listen to his man? He’s reminding me of the host of the faux television show Nozin' Aroun' from the Young Ones, actually, all “Way, yeah! Really great! Right! Cool!” gibberish and it’s making me giggle.

Right. Let’s see, the bands.

I know of hardly any of the bands. Seriously. The extent of my knowledge is from hearing about them from random people. I really need to start listening to the radio more often. I feel so lost. I’m probably not missing much, though.

One of the main reasons I wanted to watch the Brit Awards was because Jarvis Cocker was on. But I missed him. And I want to cry. He hasn’t been on since the whole Earth Song fiasco with Michael Jackson eleven years ago and I missed him! Woe is me!

What the fuck happened to Brandon Flowers? He used to look like Mandy Kane and now he’s rather unattractive. In fact, the bassist and guitarist of the Killers are far more gorgeous, which is odd, considering the singer is almost always the pretty one (what is with that, anyways?).

I’m not entirely fond of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ latest album but I love watching the band, nevertheless. Even at their age they still put on an amazing show. Flea is still as energetic and mad as he’s ever been and Anthony Kiedis’ hair is getting prettier as the years progress.

The Brit Awards must hold the record for fastest acceptance speeches. Seriously. What fresh hell is this? Everyone just says a quick “Thanks,” and tosses about the microphone. Everyone is just so nonchalant about everything. “I won? Oh, well then, jolly good.” Are all Britons like this? Maybe I’ve just been watching too many emotional American award shows.

OMD! Alan Carr! OMD! Asdfkjs! There are no words to express how much I adore you!

Oasis’ acceptance speech was hilariously short. And I must say that their performance was rather lacking; Liam’s voice seems to have changed a great deal since the nineties. Liam reminds me a lot of Matt Mays in that cheesy seventies hair and big glasses way. Actually, I’m quite fond of cheesy seventies hair and big glasses.

I don’t think I’ve ever expressed how much I adore Liam’s stance as he sings. I wonder how often he sees the chiropractor, however. The bent knees, bent waist and bent neck stance must start to hurt after awhile.

Somehow I was never aware that Noel sung Don’t Look Back In Anger. In fact, I wasn’t aware he sung at all. I thought he was just the mastermind behind the music and the lyrics. He certainly proved me wrong tonight. He’s a lot nicer than his brother, I think. Liam is rather abrasive and unpredictable, kind of a moody rock star. But I like that about him. There aren’t enough moody rock stars anymore.
