I’ve always been one to sympathize with others. I respect people for the choices they make in life, regardless of whether I agree with them or not. Everyone makes their decisions for a reason, and everyone is entititled to that right. However, I have also always been one to let people know what I think about their choices & lifestyles, especially regarding drugs & alcohol. I do this because I know what its like. I, myself, have never engaged in drugs or alcohol & I plan on keeping it that way, at least while I’m young & have so much more to live for. Yeah, I know people will start drinking & doing drugs and say “Oh, people over-react, I only do it ocassionally, nothing’s gonna happen, I just do it for fun...”.Yeah, I know this is so easy to believe, I’m 17 myself. But I promise you it isn’t that harmless, ocassional drinking/drug use can rapidy increase & take over your life without even intentionally doing so, especially when you’re young. TRUST ME, I promise. Now, I’m not preaching anything, I’m simply getting the word out about my thoughts, feelings, experience & knowledge on these topics. I’m not “straight edge”, I don’t “claim” anything. I don’t feel I need to claim anything that is a part of the way I choose to live my life, but I do respect people who do feel like they need to claim something to make their lifestyles known.
I grew up with an alcoholic & drug addict. My Dad is a recovering alcoholic & drug addict. I used to go on drug runs with him all the time when I was younger. I was young, but I still knew what was going on. I’m not naiive about that stuff as I may appear to be. I’ve watched people’s lives fall apart or even end due to the use of alcohol & drugs. It’s so hard to put your life back together after alcohol or drugs robs it from you, my Dad will be the first one to say that.
Daniel was an aquaintance of mine. I was never really close to him at all, but I did know him. I’d known that kid since middle school - 6th grade. He was the type of guy who always played tough, he’d always have this look of undefeatable strength on his face. Now that I look back, I realize it was sort of a front. Inside, he had a kind heart. He was a nice kid that was just being a teenager & doing things he knew he shouldn’t have been, but doing them anyways, cause it was fun. I always kinda knew that someday something would happen, like he’d get caught with weed, or drinking, or something, but never something so serious, so shocking, so..fatal. He will be greatly missed by many people. His memory will be kept alive through all his family and friends. My most heartfelt condolences goes out to all his close friends and family.
Life is truly a gift, it's so temporary. It's SO short. It only seems logical to make the best of what you have while you still have it, you never know what could happen. I strongly belive in living everyday like its your last. Yes, experience life & have fun, but just be sure you know what you're in for & willing to risk the consequences.

"Would you know my name,
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same,
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong,
Here in heaven."
P.S. - If you took the time to read all of this, thanks & I applaud you. If not, it’s all good, its entirely your choice. :] I just felt like it was my duty to get this out there & write this entry.
