Chrismukkah Shopping + some things I found today

Dec 17, 2007 01:21

Actually managed to do some Chrismukkah shopping tonight. Presents were bought. Money was spent. Shoppers were made tired.  I need to make note of what I've got now on my Gift List & then drag my ass out shopping by myself... because, much as I love my parents, shopping with them can suck the joy of shopping & Chrismukkah spirit right out of you.  I'm perusing the aisles, picturing people opening things to get a feel for their possible reaction. They're walking the aisles miserably checking lists & calculating dollars spent on each person.  *blech*

Joy apparel is a socially conscious T-shirt company created to promote peace and equality on a global scale. Opposed to all forms of discrimination, every face found on the website has been inspired by a real person.  Upon selecting a face, you then customize your own shirt, choosing from a variety of styles, sizes and colours. When you wear your shirt, you are encouraged to think about that person and how your everyday actions can affect others and the world we live in.

After purchasing a shirt, you may then participate in this global project by submitting a photo of your own visage, which will then be drawn by hand and posted on the website for the rest of the world to wear.

Wearing a Joy T-shirt is about taking an active stance against racism and discrimination. It is about loving your neighbor, because in someway or another we are all connected!

I had no idea that Pixar had so many in-jokes in their movies. Did you realise that the Pizza Planet delivery truck is in every single movie?  And am I the only one who missed the fact that when Sulley takes Boo home at the end of "Monsters, Inc."  she hands him a toy fish that looks exactly like Nemo from "Finding Nemo", which wasn't even out yet?

Just in case you've been dying to know, someone has digitally process the ending scene from Lost In Translation and isolated the final unknown quote Bob says to Charlotte before he walks away.  Maybe you have already imagined in your head what he said & want to keep you fantasy of the ending, but I personally had to know...
