AFL-CIO's Richard Trumka on Racism and Obama
I just saw this video on Hal Spark's new myspace blog and HAD TO share it with you, flist.
I come from a family that could be described as "soft racism" which is a term Hal uses in his blog. They get along very well with other races in general, but can constantly be heard at home complaining about them or making racial jokes around the table. But hell hath no fury when I dare to accuse them of maybe being prejudiced.. Anyway, I'm not trying to rant.. just wanted to share the vid.
And I'm so glad that so many well-known and well-loved stars and musicians are supporting Barack Obama. It's hard to cling to old views and prejudices when someone you love and respect it putting them right in your face. So thanks guys.
