So this blog is a few days late, but I'm getting on it now finally.
March 4, 5, 6
For the second year in a row a plan was made and I gathered a group of kids to head up to Toronto for Metro Jam. Initially I had planned on taking myself, Aaron Elliston, Corey Spilman, Jason Clark, Nick Smith and Michael Miracle. Soon enough Michael and Nick had dropped off and I had heard nothing from Jason. Cory Welker and John Proppe both joined on and eventually both dropped off. Two days before we were to leave John was back on board. Thursday, March 3 I finally got a for sure answer from Jason that he would not be returning with me for the second year in a row. We had our four kids. I headed home Thursday night to take care of some business there and be able to get an early jump on the weekend.
FRIDAY, MARCH 4:
Wake up at 6:45am and get ready, eat breakfast and pack. I picked up Corey at 7:45am and we had Aaron by 8:00am. We started on our way up North and had picked up John and were back on the road by 10:00am. A few random stops for food, gas, money exchanges later and it is 3:00pm and we're pulling into the parking lot of The Grange. Literally as soon as I stepped out of the van I heard my name being shouted out of the window by Christina Roy. I went in and got the key and came back out and met up with Christina, Heather Geary and Matt the Random Kid. We dropped our stuff off in the hotel and piled all seven of us into the van and went to the contest. It was amateur day and I honestly paid very little attention to anything. I remember Jeff Evans trying whips to fakie and that's about it. I ran around meeting up with all my friends from Ontario, Brett Bates and Charlie Crumlish. The contest ended and we added Brett and Charlie to our group and went back to The Grange. Everyone else went to the beer store but I was distracted on my way out by Matt Grilli and ended up back in the hotel hanging out with Grilli, his friend Tom (I think it was), the dirty vegan Will Morris and Super Pro Jay Loychek. Grilli, Tom and I went for a walk and ran into a few of the other kids outside so we ended up back in Super Pro Jay Loychek's room where alcoholic beverages were given out, I did not partake. Sometime later I ended up back in 403 (Heather's room) with Heather, Christina, Brett, Random and Grilli. Brett had ordered two flats which soon arrived. Lots of drinking was done. Lots of people came in randomly. Lots of noise was made. I mean a lot of noise. We had a few calls complaining about it. Brett through bottles out the window at cars, that was funny. Sometime around 1:00am we thought the police were called on us becuase I saw a cop car drive by so everyone went their own ways. Myself, Aaron and Brendan Lawson went back to my room. Soon enough Heather, Christina, Brett and Random were there. Drinks were had by all but I. We watched Myth Busters. Brendan pointed out the babeness of Kari on the show... he's right about that. People went their own ways around 2:00am. Corey showed up from the bar at some point in time. Christina opted to sleep in our room due to Heather and Brett being upstairs and not knowing what was going on. She took the air mattress with Corey. Bad idea. He repeatedly asked/said things such as:
"Let me see your boooobs!"
"Can I touch your boobs?"
"I'll give you $10 to see your boobs?"
"Why won't you let me touch your boobs??"
Eventually Corey passed out and Christina was safe for the time being. I was woke during my peaceful sleep by the phone ringing. I tried covering my head with the blanket and pillow but it wouldn't stop so I answered it. Charlie and John were in the lobby finally after being lost for four hours. I let them in and tried to back to sleep. The movement in the room woke up Corey. He started molesting Christina again. "Let me touch your pussy!" There was a pause for silence before he starts yelling, "I'm trying to finger her pussy but she keeps moving my hand." Again, he passes out and she is safe for the night. We all fall asleep soon after.
SATURDAY, MARCH 5:
Wake up somewhat early. Myself, Christina, Heather and Brett walk to McDonalds to get a quick breakfast. Back at The Grange we decide to take Brett back to the Best Western so he can shower/change/etc and Charlie needs to go pick up his stuff from the arena. After Charlie has his stuff we end up dropping off Aaron and Corey in the middle of an intersection so they can get Pizza Pizza then take Brett back. Charlie and I get back to find John still asleep. He soon wakes up and they ask me to film for a documentary John was making for something. Midway through Aaron and Corey show up with a 28 pack of Budweiser they got at the Beer Store after their "breakfast" of pizza. I lost a couple dollars to Heather and Charlie playing c-lo. They pre-drink before the contest and we head out around 3:00 for pro qualifying. I don't remember much of the contest... or any of it really. We get back to our room around 8:30pm giving everyone 45 minutes to pre-drink before the Orchid premiere. Around 9:15pm we start walking. We find a statue and take a few obscene pictures with it. Back to walking. I'm being loud explaining to everyone we pass A)That I'm sober. B)That everyone else I'm with is drunk. or C)That they shouldn't fuck with Ohio. We get there and have trouble with seating because we're all blind and can't see the "Reserved" signs. Eventually Steve Gray shows up... he's the Sasquatch. Andrew Burgelis was there too. I was stoked on meeting him. The Newfies sat behind us. Some Ohio kids sat a few rows in front of us. I yelled "Steel Dragon." Tarrah yelled, "Yeah Ohio!" I was stoked. The surprise of the night was showing all the bonus footage from the upcoming Little Devil DVD. It looked good. The Orchid video was good but short. We leave with our entire crew, Mike Smith, Burgelis, the Newfies and the Youngstown kids. The Youngstown kids eventually get tired of walking and find a bar. Heather throws a bag of trash at me. I hit her in the face with it a second later. I found a frozen glove in the gutter and used it to pick Corey's nose. The Newfies have disappeared now along with Charlie. Brett, Sasquatch, Corey, Aaron, Heather, John, Christina, Random and I make it to Big Slice eventually. Food is eaten by some. Random, Corey and Sasquatch go to the bars. The rest of us go to Brett's room. Mike, Burgelis and two Asians are there. Whiskey is passed around. Burelis and I try to get Charlie to drink but fail. Brett, Charlie and I play c-lo. I take all their money. Eventually Christina, Aaron, Charlie, John, myself, Mike, Burgelis and the Asians leave. Mike and Burgelis called Christina's boyfriend and broke up with him for her. I can't even begin to get into that... or can I? "We just got done tag teaming her. She's so tight." "I can't help it you don't know how to please her." It was crazy. Aaron yelled something along the lines of, "See you later Asians!" When they, Burgelis and Mike went their owns ways. He's a happy drunk. John on the other hand isn't. He was very angered about Christina not being into him. We get home a wee bit after 2:00am to find a piece of human shit in a cup in front of door. Sometime later a group of Ontario kids come in. I wasn't too into it from the start but John had one of their IDs so I let it slide. Eventually they're purposely pouring beer on the floor. Someone points out that the shit made it's way into the room. Bill gets up and smashes it with the closet door as he's being kicked out. John takes offense and starts punching him. I find it amusing but I'm tired. I think Christina went and partied with them. Sometime later there is noise in the hallway because the elevator jammed in the shaft with people in it. John sees someone he thinks put the shit in our room and challenges a fight. He'd get hurt so I get him back to the room. I go back and heckle the people in the elevator then walk into my friend Paul's room and wake him up at 3:45am just to say hi and leave. Some random girl shows up trying to give us a newspaper. She's pretty cute so I invite her in and we hang out for a while. Charlie and John leave because they think she's shady... but whatever. She had a wierd tattoo that was written backwards... but I really wasn't paying attention to that. She eventually left and Heather and Corey showed back up. Corey had a sweet track jacket he stole and a bunch of catfishcatfish stickers and stories to tell. He went up with Heather and slept upstairs. Christina was long since passed out on the bed with Aaron. We drew on her face with permanent marker. John and Charlie share the air mattress and we all go to bed.
SUNDAY, MARCH 6:
The final day of the trip. I get up around 8:30am and never go back to bed. Charlie needed to buy something for his girlfriend. I need poutine. We both got what we needed. Headed off to the contest around 1:00. The riding was nuts. I met Nik, that kid was super nice. I lost a couple more dollars playing c-lo. The riding was seriously insane. Josh Harrington deserved to win. Goodbyes and hugs were given out as our Ohio crew parted ways with Brett and the Massachusetts girls. We ended up taking Charlie and Andrew fuckin' Quags back to Niagara Falls with us. I figured since we were in Niagara we might as well see the falls. I don't think Aaron had ever seen it. We both shot photos. We met up with Danimal, Nick Couts, Adam Hough, Dan something and the other kid with them. Talked for a few and went our own ways. The border crossing guard was very nice and then a dick, then very nice, then a dick. We got across very easily though. IHOP was hit up in Amherst. John interviewed myself and Aaron for his documentary. The rest of the drive home consisted of telling stories about the weekend over and over. Somewhere in there it was decided that we need to make plans to go to the Subdivion trade show/Last Call contest at ECT in May. We dropped off John minutes before Midnight making good on the promise I made to his mom to have him back Sunday night. I dropped off Aaron first and a few minutes later Corey. I stopped at my house to gather some things and then headed back to my dorm. By 2:30am I was at my dorm and ready to pass out.
This year was so much better than last year. Not from the point of the riding being better but the weekend in general. We hung out with so many more of my friends and just partied the whole weekend. It was such a great time. I cannot wait for next year. I hope we have the same crew and the same friends show up. I'm not going to stop smiling about this weekend for a long time.
