Finally. Finally.

Reita felt mentally exhausted when he heard the bell chime across the school, signalling the end of class and the start of lunch break.

The fact that there had been two classes with that brat (a.k.a. Matsumoto) right before break does not please him at all. And just as the previous class, the shorter boy took upon himself to sit right next to the blonde and continued his taunts, mockery, and pranks all the way through. Reita wasn't sure how long would it take before he crack. He knew Uruha was already at his limit.

"Reita, let me go!" The younger protested through gritted teeth, trying to break free of Reita's hold around his upper arms. "I just want one fucking punch at that smug face of his."

"Hold your damn temper, Uruha!" The older muttered firmly into his ear. "Now's not the time!"

Being the last few in the class, Uruha glared at Matsumoto as the other took his leave. Matsumoto stared back and raised a brow as if daring him to come and pick a fight with him. Moments later, he let out a chuckle and left the room.

Uruha continued to glare at the door even after the shorter boy disappeared. He huffed after a while and turned to Reita, jerking free of his loosened hold. They were now the only two in the classroom left.

"I know you want to fuck him up too." The younger grumbled and crossed his arms childishly.

Reita raised a brow, in both amusement and disgust. "Hit him, yes. Fuck him, hell no."

"Eew." was the reply as the other cringed in thought. "I don't want that kind of imagery."

"You started it." The older shrugged.

"Yeah, well, you don't have to rub it in."

Reita shrugged again. "Just forget about him. Let's just go get lunch or something."

"...I guess. But you know, Reita..." Uruha looked up in thought. "This is not the first time we had to deal with this kind of thing but...why aren't we doing anything about it? Or better yet, why aren't you doing anything about it? He sits right next to you. Normally, you'd...I dunno,...shove an eraser down his throat? I know you're really good at doing that without the teacher's notice..."

"That is an exaggeration. I never did such a thing." The older shook his head. "If you're talking about that one time, I accidentally toss a pen into a guy's ear during class, then it might've been a different story..."

"You, my friend, have wicked aim." Uruha snorted in mirth. "Alright. I'm hungry now. Let's get something before they're all gone."

"Sure." Reita agreed.

The two packed up their things and headed out. Passing through the large crowd of students, they began to talk about more exciting things. Nearing the large door to the cafeteria, Uruha unexpected bumped into another person, just as he was about to enter in. Uruha stumbled back but the other boy lost his balance and fell.

"Ah! I'm so sorry." The boy apologized despite being the one on the floor. "I wasn't wat...ching." He glanced up to the two and trailed off, his eyes widening in surprise. "U...Uruha?"

Uruha stood like a statue, his eye grew slightly bigger as he muttered breathlessly, "...Kai."

Reita frowned at the two. Had they met before? Realizing that Uruha wasn't going to be helping any time soon, he leaned past Uruha and offered his hand to the boy. "Are you okay?"

The boy blinked repeated and looked around. He smiled appreciatively as he took the proffered hand and pulled himself up. "Yes, I'm okay. Thank you." He dusted himself off and reached down for his black thick rimmed glass and his backpack.

Reita took a moment glance at the other. He was...cute-looking, to say the least. He had a thin frame with dark chocolate hair, large dark eyes, and a child-like smile. To him, the boy gave off a cute, gentle, and innocent impression.

The only question was...how did he and Uruha know each other?

"I'm Reita." He introduced himself with a small smile. "And you probably already know Uruha." He gestured to the statue next to him.

"Ah...I'm Kai. Pleased to meet you." He returned the smile sweetly as he gave a slight bow. "And yes, we've met."

"Say, do you want to hang out with us? We're going to the roof after getting something to eat." Reita offered. If Kai accept, then he'd be able to get an explanation for this.

Kai thought for a bit, his eyes trailed down as he did. After a while, he gave a slow nod. "Okay."

The blonde nodded before twisting around to grab Uruha's arm. "Can you wait here then? We'll be back."

Kai nodded again, somewhat uncertain.

Giving a small wave, Reita quickly pulled the other to the food area and took hold of two small bags of cream bread along with two boxed juice. He wasn't really hungry and he knew Uruha would rather eat at home so it would do.

He sighed and glanced back to the younger boy. Apparently, Uruha had not shown any signs of life yet. Was his meeting with Kai impacted him that much?

Paying for the food, he trailed back to Kai, who was waiting patiently besides the door. He should've left Uruha with him. Pulling him around was a drag.

"Hey. Did we take long?" Reita asked by the time they reached the other boy.

Kai smiled and shook his head. "Not at all."

"Shall we go then?" Kai nodded this time, but he looked slightly worried for Uruha. Reita noticed and reassured him. "Don't worry. He's alright."

--

It wasn't long before they reached the rooftop. Pushing the door open, Reita was pleased to see that there was no one around. He gestured for Kai to head out first before following him with Uruha in tow.

"Hey Kai?" Reita spoke up.

"Yes?" The brunette looked at him, a bit confused.

"Turn around."

"Huh?"

"Just...do it."

"...Alright."

Kai turned around, wondering what Reita would do. A resounding slap suddenly met his ear and he twisted around, confusion etched over his face. He found Uruha glaring at Reita, his hand over his left reddening cheek.

"What the fuck is that for, Reita?!" He demanded as he rubbed his sore cheek.

"A wake up call." Reita replied simply.

"Why, you-"

"U-Umm..." Kai stuttered, drawing the blondes' attention to him. He stared at the two nervously, unable to say a word.

Uruha suddenly looked down, turning his gaze away from the brunette. Reita raised a brow at him. Now he really wanted to know what was their relationship. Uruha looked like he was shying away, something the older had never seen before in all of his life of knowing him.

Unable to keep it in, he then blurted out, "How do you two know each other?"

Uruha turned to him, expressionless while Kai cocked his head to the side. Neither said a word.

Reita stared expectedly at his best friend. He wanted answers and he wanted them now. The tall blonde knew that and rubbed his arm with his other hand, a habit when he was nervous.

He spoke up and it wasn't quite the answer Reita was expecting. "Well...we used to date."

To be continued.

A/N: And that wasn't the kind of ending I was expecting o_o; But hey, Kai made an appearance!
