Synopsis: Eunhyuk, being blind, doesn't enjoy parties. At least Donghae is there to help.
There’s so much noise here. Hyukjae thought to himself, sitting comfortably around the corner of the room. It made me wonder why I said yes to Donghae when he asked me to his company’s yearly parties…even though he knew I hated them.
His face suddenly held a grimace, his head tilting down slightly as he once again was reminded of his predicament. It’s not easy to attend these kind of events…especially when I can’t see anything but darkness.
That’s right. Hyukjae was born without eyesight and he had been this way his entire life. Growing up, he never had an easy life as the people around him continued to mock and tease and says, Oh, well aren’t you unfortunate?
But despite the harsh times, he was able to meet someone like Lee Donghae- the one person who treated him like a person rather than an invalid (of course, the other did overdo it by taking care of him as if he was a fragile doll…but it’s still more preferable than the insults he heard everyday). And -unfortunately for him-, he eventually fell for the kind-hearted man. How was it unfortunate? Because despite the close and comfortable relationship the two had, Eunhyuk knew it was all there was: friendship.
“Hyukkie!”
Eunhyuk perked up to Donghae’s voice. The brunette was coming over to him, his pace a bit faster than a walk. It was only a second later that he heard another pair of shoes pacing the same speed. Was Donghae bringing another person along?
Once the pacing stopped, he tilted his head up and spoke up quietly, “Yes, Hae?”
A small chuckle escaped the other. “There’s a few people I’d like you to meet.”
Eunhyuk raised an eyebrow, looking quite surprised. “There’s more?”
“You mean, you know there’s someone beside Donghae? Wow, you’re good.” There was a person standing beside him, he immediately realized, and he couldn’t help but to move away, sporting a slight blush across his cheeks. He heard another soft chuckle. Donghae again.
He ended up pouting at the person in speaking. This caused Donghae to laugh louder. “You’re so cute, Hyukkie.” He cooed, poking the older’s right cheek and watching as it flushed red. “Anyways,…I’d like you to meet my two co-workers, Lee Sungmin” Said man chirped in greeting. “and Park Leeteuk.”
“Hello, Eunhyuk-sshi.” Leeteuk spoke up. Eunhyuk could hear the smile in his voice- it was pleasant.
Attempting for a smile, he gave a nod once, followed by a soft, “Hello. Nice to meet you.”
“…Sungmin? What’s wrong?” Donghae asked curiously.
Eunhyuk tilted his head to the side and upon doing so, he heard some sort of strangled noise. It sounded weak so he wasn’t sure where it came from. Two seconds later, an unknown weight landed on him and he squeaked out in shock and surprise.
“You’re so adorable! I can see why Donghae took a liking to you!” Sungmin exclaimed, rubbing his cheek against Eunhyuk’s.
Somehow, it just doesn’t feel like a party anymore. Eunhyuk thought to himself, his face growing redder by the minute. No, it was more like a show and tell with him being the main attraction.
“Hyung! That’s supposed to be a secret!” Donghae hissed, apparently embarrassed. Leeteuk ended laughing as he audibly patted the male’s shoulder and murmured, “There, there, Donghae.”
Eunhyuk didn’t know what to say. For all he knew, it could be just a really good dream. But with Sungmin cuddling close to him and Leeteuk laughing, it wasn’t just a dream.
“…You like me, Hae?” He finally questioned, his voice no more than a loud whisper.
Donghae didn’t reply, but that soft “Mm-hm” was more than enough for him. His lips curved into a bright smile. “I like you too.”
As soon as those words left his lips, some strange things seemed to happen all at the same time. There were a few “Really?” followed by one “Oh my god, you got your wish, Donghae!” and “I’ll ignore you for the rest of the week so now, please let go of my Hyukkie!” (The weight was lifted from him soon after that; however, it was replaced by a slightly bigger form).
Eunhyuk ended up smiling the rest of the night. Maybe parties weren’t so bad after all.
