Mary Lou Lord*Got No Shadow*
There are plenty of tuneful tunes here. Mary Lou's strengths are in here lonesome, faint voice, her occasionally erratic guitar arrangemets and the silences that surround her casual but intimate style.

Mary Timony *Golden Dove*
By far one of the top albums released this year, so far. Former Helium singer, Mary Timony is present in all her outlandish and stunning soph. album. And, ok, so I have a bit of a crush on her, as well.

Bettie Serveert *Dust Bunnies*
This album will get your hips swerving and your toes tapping. (Ok, I've been awake a lil too long.) The vocals are haunting and poignant. I have been a longtime fan of Bettie Serveert, and sadly, they have no recieved the recogntion they so deserve.

Gore Gore Girls *Up All Night*
I just recently reviewed this album, in the late-but done nevertheless new release reviews, for last week. I seriously cannot get enough of this album. Buy it, love it. For more info on this album, check out http://www.gethip.com

Frank Black/Teenage Fanclub *Peel Sessions*
Question: How could one go wrong with Frank Black and the Teenage Fanclub? Answer: You can't.

Mirah *You Think It's Like...*
The daughter of artistic parents, the singer/songwriter had a passion for music from early childhood. Mirah began writing her own brand of lo-fi, slice-of-life indie pop. Beautifully crafted.
