our dumb city
one of the many Quirks in this 49 sq.mi. Absurdistan that i call my home is that the names of the streets are written into the cornerstones of the sidewalks, including this one down the street from me, on the corner of 18th & Capp:
uh ... huh? c'mon guys, what is that? i guess i could understand you misspelling something long like Divisadero or weird like Wawona. but Capp?
who knew the city needed a concrete proofreader? job opportunity! where do i apply!
EDIT: well you just knew this couldnt be the only typo in San Francisco. here is a flickr gallery of 109 street typos:
