i thought i would document this dinner using my suboptimal foto skills.

OK, so the bread is rising ...




first we make mango blackberry salsa, which also has red onion and serranos in it:




next is spinage basil salad with a raspberry vinaigrette, which is a mix of balsamic, olive oil and a handful of raspberries mixt in a blender:




time for the bread to go into the oven:




expensive mushrooms get a sauté in a mix of garlic, shallot, butter, tabasco, and white wine:




tuna on the grill! superhot grill, only need about 1 min. a side for black & blue effect:




we timed this meal perfectly, so it was all ready at once, including piping hot bread out of the oven which melted the drunken goat cheese. served along with a sauvignon blanc from Hess up in Napa:




oh look, a predator:




hey dad, what are you eating? can i have some? ...




and for tomorrow, some calabacitas. squashes, corn, beans, stewed in butter and New Mexico green chile:
