[Summary] Junjou Romantica Act 31 (WITH IMAGES)

May 01, 2012 05:20

Much brighter news, I bring you the summary for act 31. I decided I'd churn this out fast since it's long so NO IRC CHAT THIS TIME sorry for those who wanted a livechat. I don't think I will have the time during May due to exams so I will write out a detailed summary.

This time, PLEASE DON'T USE THE SUMMARY AND SOME DIRECT QUOTES TO SCANLATE. Thank you.

If you haven't read it, here you go. If you managed to find the download for it and kept a copy for yourself, you can refer to that too since it's all numbered the same way.

So, whoa, look at how much time has passed since we've known the time in JR-verse.

So, just to refresh your memory, Misaki is a 4th year Economics student studying at M University, currently 21 years old. He is lucky to already have a job offer (recall how that was in the earlier acts when he went for the interviews and such) and now he thinks he just can just leisurely finish his year at uni. He sings his way back about...having taiyaki as dessert. However...

USAGI APPEARS LIKE A BOSS.

The title splashed across page 2 is as such: "Even if 10 or 20 years have passed, I'd still want to be with you...I think?"

Zooming onto page 3, we see Usagi appearing like a boss and telling him to go home quick, all the while he shouts that he's told Usagi not to pick him up. Usagi replies saying he might get lost, which Misaki retorts by saying he's 21. Again, Misaki chides Usagi for having time and not doing work. But surprisingly, this time Usagi has finished his work on time and sweeps in for a kiss.

Only, on page 4, for Misaki slink back and bump his poor head, all the while yelling at Usagi that people will see. Let's shift into Misaki's thoughts a little here. He realizes that Usagi has been acting stranger than usual lately, that Usagi'll literally stick to him. Then, he gets a call from Aikawa. Apparently, Aikawa has also realized the same issue, judging from the timely fashion he hands in his scripts recently. (Lol Aikawa you're so going to regret it later for bringing this issue up.)

So Aikawa has also realized it, and Misaki hangs up telling her that he'll keep an eye about Usagi. Usagi asks what's for dinner, and also asked who the caller was. Misaki truthfully says that it's Aikawa, but lied that it was about fixing up a bentou for her. (Misaki, you need to charge people for using your services! *coughs*)

Page 7, and Usagi says that he'll pick Misaki up again tomorrow, where Misaki replies that he should do his next set of work even if he's done with the current one. And he thinks to himself that Usagi is indeed strange. And now, Misaki takes the plunge and asks him if anything happened between him and Pedojuuin the last time they had an interview. Usagi replies that it's nothing, and suddenly says he has work to do and tells Misaki to call him for dinner when it's done.

Misaki confirms on page 8 that something really did happen with Pedojuuin the other time. As he recalls, he went to Pedojuuin's to collect a script, and Pedojuuin asked him if Usagi has said anything to him. He wonders what the issue is and concludes that he should avoid contact with Pedojuuin as much as possible.

Scene shifts and Misaki is with Toudou, frantically thanking his help and that he can now safely graduate as he has turned in his work to Hiroki, but at the same time received a lecture from Hiroki. Because this is interesting, I translated it and this is what Hiroki lectures him about, "Listen up. Even if I can pass you, don't go thinking you have grasped literature with your standard. If you think this way then you're very wrong. Be aware of long-windedness..."

Aaaand Misaki gets a phone call from Pedojuuin. Misaki frantically picks the phone up and obviously Pedojuuin asks if Misaki would like to play (not that kind of "play" pervs!) at his place either today or tomorrow. No, I meant, just hang out. Pedojuuin explains on page 11 that he finally has time for these two days and so wants to also ask Toudou to go over as well. Misaki, being polite, thanks him but as he was about to go on to reject him, Pedojuuin speaks over the phone, "Last time I've also invited Toudou-kun. I should keep my promise with a fan. How about Takahashi-kun come as well?"

Misaki turns to Toudou on page 12 and tells him that it's Pedojuuin over the phone, inviting them over to hang out either today or tomorrow, to which Toudou's all OMG MUST GO like a fanboy. But Toudou can't make it today due to lessons so he would prefer it tomorrow. Misaki brainstorms of a way to leave this situation and to not visit Pedojuuin, and devises a smart plan.

He calls the editorial, seeing as it would be a bad thing for a mere employee like himself to randomly turn up with another fan to visit Pedojuuin like that. And Shizuku Ishi on the other side picks up the phone.

He confirms with Misaki that Pedojuuin has already called the editorial and it's an okay. Shizuku Ishi tells him not to trouble Pedojuuin so much as it is his rest day, and in all excitement, he cheers to be able to go but then realizes that he ended up NOT turning the opportunity down. He's happy like Toudou, but he has something else to worry about - how would he be able to tell Usagi about this?

Misaki returns home on page 16 and brings back ingredients to make dinner and picks up the papers on the floor and realizes it's the photo taken during the interview. He casually but uneasily comments that Usagi at that time dressed too formally. Usagi suggests that after his lectures they should go somewhere. Of course, he really wants to say that he's going to Pedojuuin's but ends up lying that he's got work.

Usagi asks if going to Pedojuuin's to collect scripts is his job to which Misaki denies as that person who was meant to collect it last time was on leave. Just as he was about to say something important to Usagi, the home phone rings. Usagi pauses and asks Misaki what he was about to say but Misaki asks him to just concentrate on the phone. That said, shift forward to the next day, and in the end Misaki couldn't say it.

On page 21, Pedojuuin tells them both to look around as they like, but Misaki still feels his chest tightening a little even though he's glad to see all those works. It's, however, time to leave as Toudou thanks him for all of that, and rushes off on page 23, leaving Misaki with Pedojuuin.

Alone.

And Pedojuuin doesn't beat around the bush, "Takahashi-kun, don't tell me, // You didn't tell Usami-san that you were coming today?" And on page 24 Pedojuuin comments that Misaki seemed really distracted, and again asks if Usagi has said anything to Misaki after the interview. Pedojuuin then comments that he's glad he could say it directly to Misaki. Here goes:

Pedojuuin: I like you. // Takahashi-kun.
Misaki: [What?]

(I feel it would be rather inappropriate to translate this as "love", even though in both Chinese and Japanese, 喜欢 and 好き may be translated to "love" as well. It's just that after that, Misaki seems genuinely confused about it and says he likes Pedojuuin as well that makes this rather inappropriate to be translated to "love".)

That explained, Misaki responds saying he likes Pedojuuin as well, but Pedojuuin says that his "like" for Misaki isn't "adoration towards a fan" but rather "like in a relationship". As usual, Misaki can only respond with "BUT I'M A GUY!"

Pedojuuin continues on page 27 that he has said this to Usagi and he thought Usagi would tell that to Misaki. Misaki himself has a little internal battle with himself thinking, "Wait, but isn't it only the Usamis that like me?! // No, that isn't the point!!" (Lol Misaki you amuse me so with your Usamones theory.) Misaki thinks Pedojuuin is just joking with him. And guess what. Let me put the rest out for you, IN IMAGES and sorry for ruining Usagi's hair and shirt:

At this point, Pedojuuin proudly continues that as long as Misaki likes him more than anyone else, it doesn't matter who Misaki dates. Misaki is utterly confused and is unable to be coherent, as usual. Usagi threatens Pedojuuin on page 35, "If you're only saying all this because you're curious, then I advice you to withdraw early." He continues in the next 3 bubbles, "However, if you are serious, then I won't let you do as you wish."

And on page 36, they both leave, leaving Pedojuuin smiling like a dick saying, "It's as I wish."

Back in the car, Usagi tells Misaki that he realized Misaki seemed a bit strange so he called the editorial and was told Misaki was at Pedojuuin's. He understands that this is Misaki's job but he doesn't want to see Misaki with a guy plotting something. So he followed Misaki but continued to bear with it until Misaki finished his work. Usagi isn't ashamed to admit that he's jealous of Pedojuuin. (Meh he's jealous of everything that goes near Misaki. I bet it's clothes next since they get to hug to Misaki's body every single day, especially the underwear.)

On page 38, Usagi goes into detail explaining that ever since Misaki has been a fan of Pedojuuin's and has had contact with the pedo, and that Pedojuuin harbors more than normal feelings makes him jealous. They arrive home and get off the car and Misaki asks what Usagi means, especially when he doesn't like Pedojuuin that way.

Usagi knows, but because it's that man, he still feels uneasy even if he trusts Misaki and originally didn't want to worry Misaki, but he couldn't help it. Misaki finally understands that Usagi's strange behavior was because of Pedojuuin.

On page 41, Misaki tells Usagi not to think too much, as once Usagi begins acting strange, Misaki knows. He does manage a, "I'm very worried about you" at Usagi. Usagi goes out to the porch for a smoke, and says that he's been thinking of ways he could place himself as Misaki's number one. Again, he isn't able to keep calm once it's anything concerned with Misaki, so his conclusion is to "get rid of anyone" who goes near Misaki. (Toudou...I wonder if that poor guy will be next LOL)

Misaki then apologizes to Usagi on page 42, that he didn't tell Usagi about going to Pedojuuin's, and that he didn't realize Pedojuuin's feelings, letting Usagi feel uneasy. He explains that if he told Usagi, it would let Usagi feel uneasy. Usagi replies that he's fine, but Misaki's doubtful of that. Misaki thinks, "But there was an argument between the two of them, // and Usagi-san's still feeling uneasy now...?" He wonders what he should do to make Usagi feel at ease.

Solution: say 'I love you'.

He isn't sure if he should be saying that all the time since he's an "pure/innocent Japanese man" (Um, what Misaki?) But he knows doing this will probably settle that uneasy feeling with Usagi, and he tells himself to "be a man and say it heroically!", that he should use a voice so loud even the people on the streets can hear it (are you SURE you want to do that Misaki?) and he starts with "USAGI-SAN!"

So there in very very very tiny text written in the humongous speech bubble on page 45, it says, "I like you."

Usagi, being the Almighty Lord he always is, pretends not to hear and asks Misaki to repeat again, but is shouted at in return. All of a sudden, he grabs Misaki's hand and says, "I want to touch you." (So ero. Oh you pervs.)

The atmosphere sweetens on page 47 as Usagi says that Misaki always brings energy to him. (I guess it does seeing the activities you guys do all the time. It can only either energize you or drain you.) Misaki shifts the topic and tells Usagi to let him know if he ever feels uneasy again, that he won't know unless Usagi says it.

On page 48 he continues, "Also, // I think that you shouldn't keep your emotions hidden. // That definitely won't be good for the body. // Usagi-sensei, // you should just be yourself." And he apologizes again for this time's incident, which Usagi says he needn't apologize.

And on page 49 Usagi reassures Misaki, and tells him that as long as Misaki's by his side, he would be all right.

LET THE SEX COMMENCE. And Usagi's dirty talk of body parts being very hard and multiple ways of mouth usage surfaces in the next few pages.

Usagi complains that he really didn't hear what Misaki said earlier on, and Misaki pushes him away telling him not to be so greedy, and that he isn't used to saying such things. Usagi tells him to slowly get used to it, but Misaki only looks away and says (on page 51), "Don't... // Don't bully me so much." And on page 52, Usagi laughs and returns, "What are you saying?"

They bicker a bit about how Usagi always bullies him saying he's "stupid", while Usagi returns that those were compliments. In Misaki's mind, Misaki realizes that he really likes Usagi's smile. That he feels unbelievably happy whenever Usagi smiles. Their conversation continues as Usagi says he's cute and Misaki denies that 'cause he's a man.

Ummm. Sex. And Misaki continues in his mind from page 55 - 56, "So, I wish Usagi will continue to smile, through spring, autumn, summer, winter, every second, every minute. I like you. I want continue staying by his side and watch him smile."

Smexy tiemz concludes and it's the next day, Misaki's making eggs and Usagi takes advantage of him while he's cooking. Misaki wonders if it's all right letting Usagi turn back to his normal self. Usagi says that it's Misaki's birthday soon and wonders what he should give to Misaki, one of them being going overseas. Misaki seemed to consider over it, because he's reaching 22 after all.

At this moment, Isaka bursts in congratulating Usagi on the international literature award. Isaka is whooping about sales while Aikawa congratulates him and wonders what he should wear when getting the prize. Aikawa goes on to praise Usagi for being so on time, and that if he goes to the awards he could also have a trip overseas. Usagi apologizes, however, that the script is being dragged out.

...

According to him, Misaki told him to "stay the way he is". And Misaki yells in the final bit not to push the responsibility onto him.

Final box says, "From then on, Takahashi Misaki (21) had to keep an eye on Usagi's work progress with Aikawa."

THIS MONSTER IS DONE. I hope EVERYONE enjoyed it to the max! <3 Feel free to follow me on twitter / tumblr if you have any questions etc. Thanks for your attention, and man that was very very long. :| I promised you details after all.
