This is the
2011 Crossover Exchange
Sign-Up Post
In order to spare me an entire weekend of data entry in excel, there are two parts to the sign-up this year (don't worry, the second part will only take you a minute):
1)
Fill out this survey with exactly the same requested and offered fandoms in your sign-up email. Please try to do them at the same time to so you make sure you do the same list.
2) Copy the form below into an email, fill it out, and send it to xover.exchange@gmail.com. The Subject line should read: YOUR LJ USERNAME - Sign-Up (ex., "AURILLY - Sign-Up")
Sign-ups will be open until 11pm October 10th (New York time).
I know this looks like a really huge sign-up sheet, but crossovers can be hard to come up with, not to mention match, so I'm asking for lots of fandoms and prompts in order to give writers as much choice as possible and the mods more matching possibilities. Since you don't know which two fandoms will get written, try to leave prompts for as many combinations as possible (but if you don't like writing prompts, no big deal). There are instructions for each question, as well as a sample form to help you get the idea. If you're anything like me, you'll get addicted to thinking up prompts and won't be able to stop, so it's probably a good idea to take a couple of days to flesh out all the fun ways of getting the combinations together. :)

Favorite Fandoms You'd Like to Read About:
These MUST be from the list of
qualifying fandoms. The minimum is five, but please list as many as you can, as this will make it easier to match you. Remember that any two of these may be crossed over. Please alphabetize your list and make sure it matches what you put on the survey.

Prompts: The following should be thought of as two completely separate sets of prompts.
Prompt Type #1 - Themes:
These are general prompts that can be used for any characters in any of your listed fandoms. Don't specify any fandoms or characters. Please list at least five.

Prompt Type #2 - Pairing and Scenarios:
List crossover pairings and/or scenarios you’d like to see---as many or as few of each as you like (but more is always better, since you don’t know what fandoms will be written!). After each pairing prompt, please specify if you would like (gen only) or (gen or romantic). ‘Romantic only’ is not an option. My advice is to load up on pairing prompts, since they are easier both to think of and to write. Also, research has shown that the more specific the scenario prompt, the less likely it is to get written; leave short set-ups, not plot outlines.

Characters You Don't Want Your Crossover to Focus On:
Max 1 character per fandom if fandom has six or fewer main characters; Max 2 per fandom if fandom has seven or more main characters. These characters may be mentioned or appear in the background of larger ensemble stories, but they will not be the 'stars'.

Common Fanon Pairings You Don't Want Your Crossover to Include:
You are NOT allowed to veto canon pairings. Common fanon pairings are pairings that are popular subjects of romantic fic, but the characters involved actually are not/have not been together in canon. Vetoing the characters as a romantic pairing simply means that you would prefer them to be written as they are in canon. All fanon pairings featuring your vetoed characters are automatically out, so there's no need to list them. The same goes for incest, slash, het, etc. pairings if you say below that you don't want those things.

How high of a rating would you be comfortable receiving? "NC17 only" is not an option.
Squicks & Triggers:
Ex., non-con, death, gore, torture, etc.
Genres You Like:
ex., angst, action-adventure, fluff, crack, etc.
Genres You Dislike:
Het, m/m slash, f/f slash or gen only preferences:
List all that you are happy to receive; you can't veto gen. Gen means not romance-focused, but canon pairings may still be present in a background way.

Fandoms You Feel Comfortable Writing:
Please list as many as possible, but four is the minimum to participate in the exchange. All fandoms must be from the list of qualifying fandoms, but don't have to be the same as your recipient requests. Remember that you may have to write about any two of these. Please alphabetize your list and make sure it matches what you put on the survey.

Prompt: random drunken hookup leads to surprising discoveries
Prompt: next-door neighbors or roommates fall in love

Fandoms: Alias/Fringe Pairing: Jack/Olivia (gen only)

Fandoms: Alias/Misfits Pairing: Sark/Simon (gen only)

Fandoms: Fringe/MisfitsPairing: Olivia/Simon (gen only)
Fandoms: Lost/Misfits Pairing: Shannon/Alisha (gen only)
Fandoms: Lost/Misfits Pairing: Miles/Nathan (gen or romantic)
Fandoms: Alias/Fringe Scenario: Sark was also a cortexiphan kid
Fandoms: Alias/Misfits or Fringe/Misfits Scenario: The storm was some sort of Rambaldi or Newton-caused event orchestrated by the usual baddies. Now that they've imbued people with powers, they come and kidnap the kids. CIA or FBI to the rescue!
Fandoms: Fringe/Lost or Lost/Misfits Scenario: Desmond basically has the same powers as Olivia and Curtis, right?
Fandoms: Fringe/Lost Scenario: The island is the connector between all universes OR the alternate universe in Lost = the alternate universe in Fringe
Fandoms: Fringe/Narnia Scenario: Desperate to see his friends again, Caspian engages in dark magic to get to our world. This turns out to be even more disastrous than what Walter did back in the 80s.
Fandoms: Lost/Misfits Scenario: Penny & Desmond sign up for a new program to mentor troubled youth. They get assigned to one of the kids.
Fandoms: Lost/Narnia Scenario: The island is kind of like the wardrobe and kind of like Telmar (ie., it straddles both words and has a time warp). A stop there is a missing chapter in 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader'.
Fandoms: Lost/Narnia Scenario: Edmund was a candidate.
Fandoms: Misfits/Narnia Scenario: Narnia's in trouble again (during the Golden Age, maybe?). Too bad this new set of kids Aslan has sent over is way less classy than the Pevensies. We also know Kelly can hear the thoughts of animals...

-I stopped watching Alias after season 4, so I am unfamiliar with characters and storylines introduced after that.
-I adore all the Narnia books, so feel free to use characters and storylines from ones that haven’t been filmed yet, especially 'The Horse and His Boy'.
