Josh and I went to NYC on Friday and it was a blast! I woke up at the charming hour of 5:30 and was at the train station by 7. We reached Penn Station at 9:33, walked out onto the street and WOW! I had been in Palmyra wayyyy too long. I was so psyched about all of the bright lights and flashing pictures on the impossibly talll buildings with all the taxis and people and noises and smells. It was orgasmic.

So we walked past Madison Square Garden up to Times Square. We saw Good Morning America's Diane Sawyer and Charles Gibson. They were up in the ABC studio sitting at their desk checking over their notes and speaking to the cameras. How exciting! Then times sqaure was amazing! There was the Coca Cola sign and apparently the Cup o' Noodles sign is a big thing on the opposite triangle of Times Square. We went in the Virgin Megastore. 5 stories! And we saw the MTV studios and so many other building i really cant remember them all. I took pictures.

We had to get a map from a vendor guy because we had no idea where things were (because somebody printed a map and then left it lying on their desk. useful.) 8 dollars! outrageous. So then we went up to Central Park and walked along the bottom edge of it. There was a line of those horse drawn carriages. aww! But by that point we were starving and josh's leg was exhausted and i decided that i was terrified of new york pigeons. So we went to one of those small New York diners called Sixth Avenue Diner. It was packed and loud and they had accents =D But my french toast and bacon was something like $8.75. It was wonderful though, and not too pricey considering it was NY and we walked by so many restaurants that require at least $100,000 is pearls and diamonds to be worn in order to be granted entrance. Soooo yes. The diner was good.

Then we were going to get these framed pictures from the tables on the street with the guys that try to haggle. We should have then.

Then we decided there really wasnt much point in going to do all of Central Park, so headed to Fifth Avenue. WOW was i jealous. There was a girl all decked out in this thick girly accent "girls? girls?" I suppose you had to be there. And so many girls had those little yip yip dogs on pink leashes with diamond encrusted collars and bows on there ears. They really do put bows on their poor dogs. haha. So we saw every possible store you could ever want to rob because a pair of pj pants starts at $400. Then we went to St. Patricks church which was surrounded by at least 20 different news stations' trucks with all their lights and cameras set up just waiting for the Pope to die. How depressing. I took a picture of it. So we went in the church and it was gorgeous times infinity. There was a special service going on and Josh lit a candle for the Pope. I wish I had been Catholic.

So then we went along Fifth Avenue some more and it was like any girl's heaven. We went in Saks Fifth Avenue. Big mistake. I HAD to have a bag that said Saks. So went went up to the prom dresses. Well there was a good idea..... They started at a few thousand dollars. And the yellow one was sooo pretty. How can you find a 4ooo dollar dress and then be able to find another one youre just as in love with for under $200? You cant. So then we went to Mens and the ties were at least $135. Youd think this stuff was spun with golden thread. And its funny, the sales people took one look at us and didnt even bother to ask if they could help us. How nice. So we went back downstairs and I got so many perfume samples. Apparently they dont come on cardboard. Oh no, my friend. In Saks, we use strips of ribbon and fabric. So i tied one on my wrist and its still there. It still has a limey scent after a number of showers. I think the scent tattoos itself onto your flesh with just the first spritz. So then i got my lipgloss =D. I was so psyched. I could have glued that bag to my forehead.

So Josh had had more than he could take of that store so we left. And do you know what we did? We took a taxi!! HAHA! It was my first taxi ride and it was exhilerating!!!! We near died a countless number of times and it wasnt until i got home that i learned youre supposed to tip the guy. opps.... Oh well its NY and he'll never see us again.

So we wandered around a few blocks and Josh got a hot dog but we couldnt find any of those picture tables and central park was too far to walk back to again. I felt so bad. So well just have to go back another time =D So then we were ready to leave by 2 instead of 6:30. So we got onto the good old NJtransit train and immediately fell asleep. With an incredible act of luck, we woke up one stop before Trenton. By the time we got home, we had done so much and seen so much in one day it was overwhelming but sooo much fun. We had even seen a crazy lady by a hat store, a homeless man, and guys in kilts walking into St. Patricks church. The day was so amazing and the weather was cloudy and tho it looked like it was about to rain any minute, it never did, tho the smog was thick and yellow. So i think thats it. Hope you enjoyed this action-packed entry.
