I didn't go to see Jack's Mannequin on Saturday. =( Payless wouldn't let Katie out of work and I wasn't about to go by myself. Sara said she would have gone and that would have been cool, but I checked Mapquest and instead of it taking just under 2 hours to get from here to The Electric Factory in Philly, it would take four and a half hours to get from here to Kutztown, then from Kutztown back to the turnpike to continue on to Philly. I didn't wanna spend 9 hours in a car and I also wouldn't have had nearly enough money to pay for all that gas. Poo.
BUT, I am going to see Hanson on Sunday (TOMORROW, technically!) because Sadie is flying in and we're going and it'll be the most fucking awesome thing ever. !!!!

Sunday night was a circus of sorts at the house. Pop came into my room and started yelling to "get ready because there's a gas leak". Then he went into the bathroom where Gram was taking a bath and yelled at her, too. WTF, right? Hahaha. Apparently Brian Curley smelled gas and it was bubbling in the snow between our houses or something, he came and told Pop and Pop called 911.
So I get dressed because I was wearing pajamas at that point. I pack up my school shit, clothes for school, clothes for work on Monday, and other shit I'd need if I had to spend the night at my parents house. I got Melanie's leash and harness together along with a blanket she often sleeps on so if we had go to, she'd have something familiar to sleep on. I got food together for her and Thumper, I locked them both in Gram and Pop's room, and waited for the fire department and the gas company.
The fire department showed up and Uncle Tom was there, which was funny. They shut the gas off and dug around in the snow. Apparently there's a valve of some sort on the gas line that opens and closes, and some snow/ice got in there and forced it to stay open, so it was leaking. The gas company came and said they'd have the gas back on in an hour or so and since there was no gas in the house we'd be okay to stay there, so I unpacked everything and let the cats back out of the bedroom.
I was the only one who had packed anything. Gram just stayed in her housecoat and pajamas saying "where are we supposed to go if we can't stay here tonight?" I kept telling her like hello, my mom and dad, your daughter and her husband, live around the corner? They're so WEIRD sometimes. Pop's saying to her "well you and Nikki go and I'll get the kerosene heater and a sleeping bag and sleep in the basement. I'm not leaving the house." Uh, if they had told you to leave the house, you'd kinda have to. They just amuse me to no end sometimes, really. So. Weird.
I was telling Dad about it and he said the fire department has actually gotten a lot of similar calls this week with peoples' gas lines leaking like that. Kinda weird because it's not like it's the first time we've ever had snow, haha, and Gram and Pop have lived in this house since 1972 and this had never happened to them. *shrugs* It was an interesting night that I felt like I should record.

School was ridiculous of course, since it was the week before Spring Break. I have a lot of work to do over break, but it's not like I won't be able to get it finished. I'm just glad the week is over. =)

Now I'm going to bed, and when I wake up, it will only be a matter of hours before Sadie comes to PA! =) =) =) =)
