My brother's 15th birthday was yesterday. Despite living 10 minutes away, our dad couldn't stop by because he was taking Dino to Chicago to visit yet another fertility clinic. Basically, he was missing his only son's birthday so he could find out his chances of having a child with his second wife. Classy.
And because his birthday fell on a Friday, our mom was left with a dilemma: either leave us home alone and go to Tom's for the night, or bring Tom to our house so Nolan wouldn't feel abandoned on his birthday. There was no third option.
Tom came over.
I hate to say it, but the more I talk to Tom, the more I'm thankful that I'll never have to live with him for an extensive period of time. He out-smart asses me! It's really annoying! I wish my mom wouldn't tell her friends that I intend to double-major in political science, because they always seem to want to challenge my views, like pulverizing a young girl's beliefs would make them feel better about themselves. I always turn them down. Last night, I think I dismissed the topic with, "I haven't prepared my talking points."
1) I leave school at school; 2) I know better than to talk politics with men my mother has chosen as father figures; 3) I am very simply not about to debate current events with someone who says, "I seen it."

Last night's movie of choice was The Mosquito Coast, recommended by me (obviously). I am never watching a movie with mom and Tom ever again. Every five minutes it was, "Wow, his shirt held up well," "Those kids haven't grown much," "Where'd they get that stuff? They couldn't have built it." I felt like I was back in Modern Film & Lit because absolutely no one was paying attention to the storyline or its unfortunately realistic observations of human society.
I should have known better than to watch a movie involving heavy carpentry and construction with a ~*~Sears repair man.~*~

So, that Spanish vocabulary thing has completely fallen away. I told myself I need to go back through my worksheets yet again, but I woke up late and now I don't know if that's going to happen.
I am presently registering to vote online.
We're supposed to go school shopping today.
My friend's having a bonfire that I'm supposed to go to tonight at eight, but it's been raining all day so I don't know what's going on.
