I watched Casablanca last night (and if I refer to it as Casanova, I apologize; I keep doing that).
LOL OMG. I'm watching watching Will & Grace right now, and a joke was just made about mixtapes and love and Casablanca. It prematurely proves my point: I should have seen this movie years ago, because now I have to back-track on all of these references.
Like, when I first saw this episode of House, I knew he was quoting Casablanca (just because I know my movie quotes), but I was still not entirely familiar with the original context.

I think I need a complete list of all the quotes the follow the formula: "Of all the X in all the world, (s)he had to walk into mine."
Well, at least I have another excuse to re-watch Airplane!. I'm 99% sure there are a couple spoofs in there. There has to be.
Ok, as for the actual movie: Of course it was good. I'm not stupid. But quickly: Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman have the whitest names ever. I just had to say that.
Oh, and why were Humphrey's lips always glossier-looking than Ingrid's? It was like he was constantly drooling just a little or something.
Ignoring that last part (the part about the weird mouth), I thought Humphrey Bogart looked a little like Brian Williams with the right lighting, angle, and distance.
About the plot: I need a timeline really bad. How long were Rick and Ilsa together in Paris? I know Victor was gone for a year, but when, exactly, was he falsly presumed dead, because Ilsa said that after that she was lost for a few months before she met Rick. And then, how long was Rick in Casanova before he was reunited with Ingrid? I don't know my history! What years (this took place over years, right?) did everything take place in?!
This is essential information for me.
I really like their song. "As Time Goes By," if you don't know.

Aw, I always thought "kid" was such an adorable term of endearment for women--when used romantically, of course.
I never realized that the song "2HB" by Roxy Music (or The Venus In Furs in Velvet Goldmine) was based on this movie. I suppose it's obvious now.
Yes, that's Toni Collette and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

Oh, I was moved by your screen dream
Celluloid pictures living
Your death could not kill my love for you
Take two people romancing
Smokey night club situation
Your cigarette traces a ladder
Here's looking at you kid
Celebrate years
Here's looking at you kid
Wipe away tears
Long time since we're together
Now I hope it's forever
Ideal love flies away now
White jacket black tie wings too
You gave her away to the hero
Words don't express my meaning
Notes could not spell out the score
But finding not keeping's the lesson
Here's looking at you kid
Hard to forget
Here's looking at you kid
At least not yet
Your memory stays
It lingers ever
Will fade away never
