Mmm, a heart dinner of.. well, heart. Uncooked of course because that drains out all the juices and then it's just gross. The organ has been sliced into pieces and is currently resting on a plate with a fork by its side. It looks as though someone has already started munching. Bella is currently not at the table though, her head is peeking into the fridge, digging around for some form of beverage. Low on blood, which leaves soda, milk and water. "Does a body good." The woman mutters to herself and hefts the jug in one hand, the other popping a small, bloody piece of dinner into her mouth.
Thomas walks into the kitchen in relative silence, the only noise being the sound of his footfalls and the occasional tink of his wristbands on a blue jeans rivet. He is wearing his twin DE's that Toxin gave him, but they are strapped under his arms via a shoulder holster set. The man stops short as he spies a woman he doesn't recognize, but knows to be Sabella standing at the refrigerator. A thought is made to turning and leaving right now, but it is just a passing thought. He came to get a drink and that's what he's going to do.
That and the noise of his breathing and his heart thumping. Not to mention the scuffle of shoes. Bella's nose wrinkles as soon as she smells the gun powder, distaste written over her lovely features as she steps from the fridge and pushes it closed with a foot. "Guns are disgusting, you should learn a more useful weapon skill. Honestly, what is with everyone and guns? No respect for the classics." She sighs and moves towards her seat with the jug of milk.
Thomas shrugs as he walks to the refrigerator. "I stick with what I'm good at. And just because I'm good at shooting, doesn't mean I can't handle myself up close and personal." It's matter of fact, not snotty or arrogant. He opens the fridge and pulls out a bottle of juice before turning to find a glass. He spies the sliced raw heart and grimaces slightly. "You should really consider a healthier diet. Some greens, roughage, that kind of stuff."
"Sticking with what you're good at makes you mediocre and useless." Bella states and pops another chunk of meat into her mouth before watching as he tries to find a glass. "Second cabinet to the left, and you may get me one as well." Because she doesn't feel like getting back up. He earns little more than a slight lift of brow to that last comment, slender finger pointing to the organ on the plate. "/He/ was a healthy eater. Vegetarian actually. So I'm fine."
Thomas goes to the second cabinet on the left and pulls out a pair of glasses. He turns and walks toward Bella with his juice and both glasses. "No, refusing to learn or try something new makes you mediocre and useless." He sets the glasses on the table and fills his with juice with a bit of a smirk. "Nice logical approach. The best part is it's true." Tommy sits across from Bella. "Listen though, I wanted to talk to you about something."
"Settling with what you're good at can be just as bad as refusing to learn new things." Bella states with a lazy half-glare in the boy's direction. He really isn't worth arguing with any further so she drops it and takes the glass, pouring herself a glass of milk. "And what is it that you would like to discuss?"
Thomas shrugs off her half-glare as he sips his juice. "We got off to a bad start. I wanted to apologize for showing any disrespect that first day." There. He said it. Now maybe he can get on with his life here and not have someone hating him. He takes another swig of his juice and looks at her.
Bella mms and looks unconvinced as she munches on a few more bites, content to sit in silence for a good minute or two before responding. "I see." She states and seems to ponder it finally, waving a dismissive hand. "You are forgiven. Though what I said still stands." If he questions her loyalties again he will be destroyed at once.
Thomas nods. "That I completely understand." He finishes his glass of juice and pours another for himself. Another silent moment passes as he contemplates how to ask his next question. "One other thing. I'm looking to get something for another person on the island. A kind of thank you gift. Since you are a senior member and know the people who were here before me better than I, would you help me figure out what to get?" Oh man, tough guy just made himself sound like a little girl doing Christmas shopping. He winces to himself at how it sounded and sips his juice.
"Good, so long as we're clear. I don't want to hear you complaining that it's unfair before you I break you in half." Bella states and then pauses, green eyes glinting as she grins a catty grin. "If it ever comes down to that I mean." Fingernails tap against table for a moment as he instantly starts asking for help. Ah, so that's the real reason for the apology. "Depends on the person you're looking to find something for."
Thomas blinks and doesn't believe he's asking this, but does it anyway. "Well, it's for Toxin." He takes another drink from his glass and looks back at Bella. "She got me these and I want to get her something in return." His free hand pats on the gun at his shoulder. Yeah, so she definitely has a chance to ruin Syphon's life right now. But he hopes she will be kinder than that to him. "I figure it's only right to do that."
That one brow arches even higher at the mention of Toxin's name. Indeed it would be so easy to crush his little heart and mind right now, but why ruin Toxin's fun? "Ah, I see!" she states and taps a finger against her chin. "Here's what you do. You go out into the wooded part of the Island, try not to get lost, it is awfully big, and find a snake. The more poisonous the better and bring it back for her as a pet. She'd love it." Bella leans back. She looks serious enough.
Thomas blinks and stares at her. "You're serious?" He thinks for a few moments on the idea and shrugs. "Yeah, but it's getting to the point where the snakes are all getting set to hibernate. Chances of finding one are slim. Is there anything else I could do?" He is quite genuine about this request, as he feels he should return the gesture. "Any other ideas you might have?"
Bella frowns. "I have plenty of ideas, but if I tell them to you I'm stuck with nothing to get her for Christmas or her birthday. And really, she's a woman who has almost everything she could ever want, so getting good gifts are difficult. Difficult as my suggestion might be, it would be the quickest way into her heart." Bella cleans off the rest of her plate and downs the milk in a couple of sips. "Plus she'll appreciate the effort it took."
Thomas frowns right back. "Who said anything about a way into her heart? I told you, I'm doing this because she got me these guns, and it's only right to give something in return." Yeah, and if he keeps saying that to himself he may just believe it. Then again, he's not sure whether he's coming or going most days anymore, too much bouncing around in the skull. "I suppose it's off to the woods then to find a snake. Thanks for your help."
“Did you know that when a person has feelings for another person that extend beyond the normal bounds of friendship and they /talk/ about that person, generally there's a subtle shift in their pheromone output." Bella taps the side of her nose, eyes twinkling. "Normal folks can't smell it, but those of us with super senses most certainly can. That and your heart beat jumped. Don't ever bother lying to me, you'll just piss me off." The plate and cup are tossed into the sink as she heads for the door. "Try not to get bit."
Thomas just stares after her, dumbfounded. "How in the . . . . " Apparently he doesn't know much about Bella.
